Choices in setting not checking. Can't tell what is on or off with 91.0!

more options

None of the boxes in my setting are changing when I click on them. I have never had this problem before, and only since the 91.0 update today. I can't see what I've turned on or off, and it took me more than 20 minutes of experimenting to discover which choice I accidentally checked when my cat jumped onto my arm (the mouse button clicked before he stepped on the scroll wheel). I can't adjust anything if I can't see which choices I'm making, or which I don't think need to be changed. I did a fresh reinstall after, but having the same problem. The image was taken afterward. In it, I have tried to activate three choices. Can you tell me which ones? I can't tell, because none of the boxes have changed. And where did my separate tabs go? Having inactive tabs not separated, while the active tab is just floating there - literally, it is not just a floating sign acting as a tab - is seriously distracting. Is there a way to change this to, at the very least, make the inactive tabs separate again so the active one isn't such an independent eyesore?

Never mind about the tabs. Sorry. Just realized they've been this way for a while. Still seriously annoying though. And still need to know why I can't see my settings choices.

I don't know what is wrong with your checkboxes. Normally they are a pretty aggressive blue color when they are checked:

Are you seeing the same problem on websites, or is it specific to built-in pages?

It also appears that the vertical line separating the navigation list from the settings is missing on yours.

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or userChrome.css is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Troubleshoot Mode start window

I see that vertical line disappearing with some zoom settings (zoom out to 70%).

On the Firefox subreddit, someone said this is caused by having browser.proton.enabled set to false. Apparently some of the style rules set by that preference are either missing or not working any more.

I had the same problem and returned browser.proton.enabled to true. Of course now I am back to the awful new design that makes it hard to see the tab bar.
