Firefox has WIFI stability issues. Chrome remains stable, but Firefox loses connectivity every 5 to 10 minutes. A refresh is required and often that does not solve the issue. A complete reboot of Firefox is required.

There is security software like Avast, Kaspersky, BitDefender and ESET that intercept secure connection certificates and send their own.

Start Firefox using Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

No dialog box appears. I have however gone into the burger menu and selected 'Start in troubleshoot (Safe) Mode'. I've done this 2 days in a row now. I know it is not my Internet because I am using Chrome for my work Gmail and all GDocs and haven't had a single issue. I just like to use Firefox for my personal stuff... but it is becoming more of a hack than useful.

I have just got a new laptop. Firefox was slow on my last laptop and often crashed, but it worked at least 50% of the day. This new laptop is much quicker, so not sure why it would be worse off.

Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then start Firefox. Try Secure websites. Is the problem still there?

If the problem goes away with the computer in Safe Mode, the problem is with one of the other programs on the system.

As a test, disable your protection programs.
