It sounds like you don't need any privacy accessing this site. Is the site accessible on an HTTP address rather than an HTTPS address? If you click in the address bar and edit the s out from https:// so it is http:// and then press Enter to submit that, does it load or does it redirect back to https:// ?

It is http://. I've tried changing the permissions, etc. I contacted the website and they say it is working fine. I sent them the error information that they need to change to https, but they haven't answered. All the website does is show gears moving.....not opening the camera view. Can you try accessing this and see what you suggest to do? It is: http://sundialcams.rlrllc.com/. It has only been a few weeks that it stopped opening. Could it be the latest firefox updates? It tried the website in firefox, edge, maxthon and avast vpn.

Thank you for your help jscher2000!!!

You can disable HTTPS Only mode by clicking the padlock in the location bar and disable HTTPS-Only for this origin.

Thank you for your suggestion, but I do not have that enabled.

You can only access that website via http:// and a secure connection is not possible, so you will see "Connection is not secure" if you hover the padlock. This shouldn't be a problem Only if you can't load the website via HTTP because you are forcing HTTPS or otherwise then there is a problem.

So, does the site load for you ?

You can try these steps in case of issues with webpages:

You can reload webpage(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies for websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Options/Preferences).

"Remove the Cookies" for websites that cause problems:

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data: "Manage Data"

"Clear the Cache":

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data -> Clear Data -> Cached Web Content: Clear

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, DuckDuckGo PE, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block content.

Firefox shows a purple shield instead of a gray shield at the left end of the location/address bar in case Enhanced Tracking Protection is blocking content. You can click shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection. You can check the Web Console for messages about blocked content.

Yes, I deleted and cleared all the cookies and cache. Don’t have any extensions to block content. I turned off Enhanced Tracking Protection. It is just a webcam at Sundial Resort in Florida. Here is the website: http://sundialcams.rlrllc.com I tried some many things but no luck. I sent problem to website to change to https:// but not changes. You use to be add an exception (whitelist) in older versions of Firefox…….but not now. Please checkout the website. Any suggestions on getting access is deeply appreciated cor-el.

Thank you.

I tried the address in a private window and never got a live image, just an animation of some gears.

It seem this critical script is timing out for some reason: http://beachcam.rlrllc.com/jsv/SncViewer.js

I get the same response and error shown in the Web Console and it also takes a long time to load the page. I had tried to load, but that request times out.

Thank you very much jscher2000 and cor-el for trying to help!! It just seems crazy that we can't access it. Just wish I could whitelist it.

Thank you and please take care!

That script won't load in Chrome for me, either, so maybe you are running it out of the cache from a past visit in your other browsers?

I have been accessing this webcam for years. Just the past month did this problem come up. It is part of a website to local webcams on Sanibel Island (https://sanibel-captiva.org/sanibel-island-webcams/#content) which includes the Sundial cam. I tried two computers and browsers: firefox, maxthon, edge and avast vpn and still no access.

Oh, I thought Firefox was the only browser that wasn't working for you. You could let them know about the problem: https://sundialresort.com/contact/
