Is the multi account containers still useful in Firefox 86
Hi,
After reading on the new update with Firefox 86, it seems that you have made some really good changes on the way cookies are handled forcing each site to keep their cookie separate from everyone else.
So is the Is the multi account containers still useful in Firefox 86 if what I'm using them for is to keep from being tracked?
It seems that they would be useful if I wanted to open several different Gmail accounts at the same time from within their respective folders.

If you can work your way with the basic builtin Firefox container features then you do not need the MAC extension, only if you need to use features added by this extension you have to install it.

While your answer is technically correct, it would apply to any extension. Perhaps the problem was my question. Let me see if I can do better.
The main reason I was using this extension was to make sure that tracking cookies couldn't follow me from site to site. Now, with the way that has changed in Firefox 86, I'm not sure that this extension would continue to be useful in that regard. Could you speak specifically to that?
Maybe phrasing it another way would be helpful. With the change in 86 regarding tracking cookies, is the main reason to use the Multi-Account extension to be able to do things like open multiple Gmail accounts that normally couldn't be done without being able to separate them via a container?
If I am missing something here, hopefully you get a better understanding of my question and can speak to whatever it is that I'm missing. Or if my question is more helpful, maybe you can respond and I can get this figured out easily I'm sure.

(As a completely unrelated side note, Let me just say that I absolutely love Firefox. I do wish they they would stay focused on their products and drop the social justice themes. One way to look at that is that nobody comes to Firefox to try to figure out what to do with social justice issues. We come for the browser. And I really don't care what companies think. If I did, I would involve myself in forums on Facebook etc. I do wish there was a way that I would not have to hear anymore of it from Facebook without unsubscribing from all the emails. So perhaps, if this reaches the right person in the company, my voice can be added to the pile I'm sure you already have on all sides of this. And regardless of whether or not any change is made giving me more of what I want regarding this, I want to offer my congratulations and support around this product. You guys produce one hell of a browser. I could not be happier.)

I have the same question, but in my words:
Did Firefox 86 Total Cookie Protection make obsolete the 'MAC' (and the Facebook container)?
I have used both extensions the last few months, but felt the MACs cumbersome, requiring too much attention for me. Too often finding out what’s the problem if a site doesn’t load properly, is for this 72-year-old a too heavy additional load as another extension (like my ad blocker) can cause the problem too!

To me, that is the main purpose of container tabs, to solve problems caused by first-party cookies being shared among all the open tabs in the same context (regular context or private context).
