Hi
Please can you provide the full web address of the page that your downloaded Firefox from.
VirusTotal has a lot of scan engines, and usually one or two of them think there's a problem with a release of Firefox. However, those usually are "general" or "heuristic" detections by engines I've never heard of. Can you share the full URL of the results page you got from VirusTotal?
https://www.mozilla.org/nl/firefox/download/thanks/ download from here than i run it on virustotal it is still whit this troyan

Sorry, I should have mentioned that URLs on non-Mozilla sites trigger spam link moderation. Your post will appear eventually!
I think that detection by the "Jiangmin" scan engine is for the small 325 KB "stub" installer that selects a full installer based on your system configuration.
You don't actually need the stub installer at all. You can directly download the full version installer from this page instead:
https://www.mozilla.org/nl/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release
Then you can test that much larger file on VirusTotal if you like.
hi i downloaded the desktop version but also here I get the same message I don't have much technical understanding of how this works I just want to know why virustotal gives this message and whether it is safe to use firefox
The file size you show in your above reply shows that you downloaded the small sub installer that need to download all the files from internet. It is likely the latter that makes some AV software marking the file as suspicious.
- Firefox Installer.exe
- 325.23 KB
The full installer that is about 53 MB and shouldn't have this issue.
You can find the full version of the current Firefox release (85.0.1) in all languages and all operating systems here:
- https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/85.0.1/releasenotes/
Firefox releases on the Mozilla CDN server:
hello i have download from your link the full version but still virustotal say that it have a trojan can you please check ik on virus total becaus i all whant to now if firefox is safe and wy virustotal al versions of firefox say that it have a trojan
I see that same detection for the U.S. English installer for Firefox 85.0.2:
61 scan engines don't have a problem with it, and 1 does. I trust the 61.
