Can't use Firefox to access my bank account

For the first time after 10 years, I can no longer access my PNC bank account using Firefox V84.0.2. This problem started just this Sunday Jan 24, 2021. I am using AVG and the Defender firewall. When I try to enter my account PNC tells me that it cannot find the code and tells me to use another browser like Chrome or Internet Explorer which I don't want to do. PNC tell me to contact Firefox as, "It is not their problem." But so far I have found nothing in Firefox to solve the issue whatever is causing it. I need help as I would rather not change browsers.

I have restarted my PC, checked and restarted AVG, checked the troubleshooting program, and reinstalled Firefox, but nothing seems to correct the problem. So where do I go from here?

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

I have the same problem with PNC right now, and it is specific to Firefox. Safe mode does not work either. Disabling private browsing, clearing cache, and a few other checks on blocking content have not yielded results either.

What specific problems do you have with that website ? Can't you open the page at all or is this only a problem with login ?

This is on a Mac running FF ver 85.0.2.

I can navigate to the landing page. On "submit" from login, it says: "Please try using another internet browser. If you still receive this message, please call the Customer Care Center at 1-800-762-2035 and reference code: 18.8e386368.1613393735.34eca8e2"

Safari works. My work laptop (Windows 10, FF ver 85.0.2) works fine. Same extensions on both machines (1Password browser extension)

Multiple attempts at safe mode, refreshing profile have yielded no results. The one outlier is the Mac has Norton AntiVirus on it? I've read other forum posts where security software is interfering?

Any help or ideas are appreciated.

This error usually means that the server thinks that there is something suspicious about the request.

You can remove all data stored in Firefox for a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox for this domain like history and cookies and passwords and exceptions and cache, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data for that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.

If you revisit a 'forgotten' website then data for that website will be saved once again.

I will note too that I always enable: "delete cookies, history, website data" on close.

Having said that I re enabled history, went to PNC's site so that it would populate in history, then tried your method. No dice. Same message.

I also uninstalled Norton AV in case that was the culprit. Same result

Using the Safe mode, I discovered that the AdBlock Plus extension was the reason that my bank could not be accessed. When I disabled the AdBlock Plus extension, everything works fine. The extension must for some reason had chosen to not like my bank's web site address. With all of my other safeguards, I don't miss using the AdBlock program so all is well now.

Load the web page. After the page is loaded, click the AdBlock icon. Now select Disable on <website>. After, reload the page.
