We are facing an issue with Mozilla Firefox when we try to deliver it via Application Virtualisation where the browser tabs continue to crash. We have tried launching this in safe mode and the issue continues. Is there anything else we can do to troubleshoot this issue? or has anyone else experienced this issue?

We are experiencing a second issue where when we try sequencing Firefox with Adobe Flashplayer via AppV, the published application will not show the flash plugin in the firefox options screen. We can see that flashplayer has successfully installed within the AppV package but it seems to be failing to acknowledge the files in the browser. Has anyone experienced anything similar to this?

Thanks

In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP- in front of the numbers/letters, click it to submit them.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

Using your mouse, mark the most recent 7 - 10 Submitted crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box and paste them in.

Support for Flash will be removed in the next Firefox release (85) and it won't be possible to enable and use Flash content and this application needs an update to use HTML5 features.

Make sure all software is up to date.

Update McAfee. If the problem continues, disable it.

Do a clean reinstall of the current Firefox release and delete the Firefox program folder before installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.

If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows Registry and settings in security software.

  • do NOT remove "personal data" when you uninstall the current Firefox version, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords including personal data in profiles created by other Firefox versions

Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

  • (64-bit Firefox) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
  • (32-bit Firefox) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"
  • it is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling

Your personal data like bookmarks is stored in the Firefox profile folder, so you won't lose personal data when you reinstall or update Firefox, but make sure NOT to remove personal data when you uninstall Firefox as that will remove all Firefox profile folders and you lose your personal data.

If you keep having problems then you can create a new profile as a quick test to see if your current profile is causing the problem.

Reinstall Firefox
