Tabs crash constantly on Youtube

Recently (within the last few days) tabs have began crashing on youtube. Specifically if a video player page is loaded, but the player itself is paused for any length of time.

I have tried and successfully reproduced the issue with safe mode, I've also successfully reproduced the issue with a new profile. I've also successfully reproduced the issue with an entirely new ~/.mozilla directory.

It appears (based on what I can see) something on the page is triggered, then memory spikes and the tab crashes.

What else should I try to resolve this?

Hi,

Since reporting this bug the issue has since been resolved. I'm honestly not sure what resulted in resolving the problem, I can only guess that at some point an update swapped out, or make unavailable some function firefox was relying on, after rebooting I was back in a sane environment and things started working fine.

Can you try downloading another version and just running it from the extracted folder? I'm running 3 version on my laptop and have not seen that issue.

Or just download the same version and run it from the folder.
