Why can't firefox save a file on my desktop creating a meaningful shortcut reflecting the logo of the icon's identity ?

First I saved the file on my desktop with firefox. When I attempted to open it later, all I saw was a list of unscripted files that were meaningless. I then proceeded to save the original file on my desktop using internet explorer..proceeded to open it and all the pages and graphics were intact. So tell me why I should continue using firefox when all I see is jumbled java script. I need to save files on my desktop.

Basic TROUBLESOME issues like this, which are of prime necessity to this user, firefox seems to ignore .

What kind of files are you having issues with and how are you going through the process of saving them? I can't say I've ever heard of a program having issues saving files exclusively on the desktop.

What is the name of the file? What type? Where did you get it from?

Firefox usually creates two items when you download a web page. One is the main HTML file (xxx.html) and the other item is a folder with the additional files with the name xxxx_files (Windows threads these two items as connected files). From what you describe it looks that you opened this folder instead of opening the xxx.html file.
