Making a backup of your important information is not necessary to the function of Firefox.

Problems, problems, problems. It won't allow Dashlane to work, and now it's dumped all my homepages and log-ins. I reinstalled everything, then opened up my laptop tonight, and the homepages and log-ins are gone.

I'm sick of all this, have you done this? Created a batch file? Opened your profile? (Yes, and that didn't work). I am not a computer tech and have no interest in being one. I would like a program that is put out there for use to work, not create headaches. I would gladly pay for it. This is ridiculous.

Step Two:
Open Task Scheduler. Go to:
Start -> Windows Administrative Tools -> Task Scheduler
2020-03-17T03:35:03-07:00user104147805413306348376805769878442569366https://support.mozilla.org/ga-IE/questions/1276326?page=2#answer-1298300
Step Two:

Open Task Scheduler. Go to:
Start -> Windows Administrative Tools -> Task Scheduler

In the right pane select Create Basic Task...
In the first window, give your Task a Name (you can add a description, if you like) and select Next.
In the next window, select how often you want the Task to run - Daily, in my case - and select Next.
Here, you can set the Start date and the time of day that you want the Task to run. To help ensure successful completion and prevent possible corruption of files, choose a time when Firefox is usually closed. Select Next.
In this window, you want to Start A Program and select Next.
Now, you can Browse to the location of your batch file. Note: If you ever move your batch file, you will need to edit this part of your Task. Select Next.
On the finish window, check the box next to Open the Properties dialog for this task when I click Finish. Then, click Finish.
In the Properties dialog, on the General tab, select Run whether user is logged on or not and check the Do not store password box.
Click OK and you're all set.
You can click on Task Scheduler Library in the left pane and see your task listed in the center panel. You can select the task and click on Run in the right pane to execute the Task.
Close the Task Scheduler.

Another note:
If your Profile name ever changes, you will need to Edit your batch files' sourcefolder. (Right-click on the batch file and select Edit near the top)

The command line is:

xcopy /e /y sourcefolder destinationfolder
where:
/e copies everything including folders and empty folders
/y is yes to overwrite all files

In Firefox, go to:
3-bar Menu -> Help -> Troubleshooting Information
Under Application Basics, next to Profile Folder, copy the entire path to your Profile. Save this path in a Notepad for convenience. This is your Source Folder which will be copied by the Task. Close Firefox.

You will need to decide where you are going to store the Destination Folder and the batch file. You can create a folder for this but, there can't be any spaces in the path. For example, if you want to backup your Profile to \Firefox Backup\ make it \Firefox_Backup\ instead.

Open File Explorer. Click on the View tab. At the right end, select Options. In the Folder Options window, select the View tab and de-select Hide Extensions For Known File Types. Close the Options and File Explorer windows.

Open another Notepad and type in:
xcopy /e /y sourcefolder destinationfolder
replacing sourcefolder with the Firefox Profile path and destinationfolder with the path to the location that you decided to save your Profile Backup.

As an example, my command line looks like this:
xcopy /e /y C:\Users\RobertJ\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ei1er75h.Tester C:\Users\RobertJ\Documents\Firefox_Backups\TesterBackup

Now, you can save this as a .bat file.
Select File -> Save As...
In the Save As window select the folder where you want to save the batch file.
Set Save As Type to All Files (*.*)
Name your file and add .bat extension to the name then click Save.

You can go to the saved location and double-click on the batch file to see that it is working.
You will see a command prompt window open and the copy command will run. This will not happen when the Scheduled Task runs. Then, go to the Backup location and see that your Profile has been copied.

You can go back into File Explorer and reset Hide Extensions For Known File Types.

(While your working on that, I'll put together how to create a basic task)

OK. No problem.

Unfortunately, it is not compatible with the current Firefox.

Every now and then, open the profile folder and create
a copy of the current profile as is to another location

This should be done with Firefox Closed.
