So I have Laptop A, Laptop B, and Desktop C All of them are logged in with the same Firefox account. The sync function worked just fine until one day, all three devices now have their own bookmarks, and I can't have them share the same bookmark list

Can anyone help

You can't set a master device for Sync. All devices that are connected to a specific Sync account are the same: data from each device is merged to all other connected devices. If you do not want to have the same bookmarks on all devices then you shouldn't include the bookmarks in syncing data.

I think I didn't explain clear enough. All my devices are connected to the same account. However, the bookmark list on each device ARE NOT the same list. How do I make the bookmark list on ALL device the SAME LIST

As long as Bookmarks are selected in Sync Settings on the internal about:preferences#sync page for each device, your bookmarks should be synchronized among all connected devices.

If not you have a problem. In that case see if you can figure out what the differences are; like minor changes or actual sets of folders that aren't synchronized.

Open the about:sync-log page (typed in the URL bar) and see if you have any Error Logs. If so, read the latest logs and see if you can find what the error messages say.

All three devices have marked that option. I do have error logs on my main computer.

1568230352081 Sync.Declined DEBUG Handling remote declined: ["addons","tabs","forms","history"] 1568230352081 Sync.Declined DEBUG Handling local declined: ["addons","tabs","forms","history"] 1568230352081 Sync.Declined DEBUG Declined changed? false 1568230352082 Sync.Service INFO No change to declined engines. Not reuploading meta/global. 1568230352082 Sync.ErrorHandler ERROR Some engines did not sync correctly. 1568230352082 Sync.SyncScheduler DEBUG Next sync in 600000 ms. (why=schedule)

How many bookmarks do you have? Syncing a large amount of bookmarks can takes quite some time as this is done in small chunks.

Are there messages in the Sync log about the bookmarks engine?

If you use Sync then best is to disconnect Sync temporarily during troubleshooting.

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite and favicons.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder.

  • use "Verify Integrity" button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page

In case errors are reported with "Verify Integrity" close and restart Firefox and retry.

If "Verify Integrity" cannot repair places.sqlite, rename/remove all places.sqlite and favicons.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder. Firefox will rebuild places.sqlite and restore the bookmarks from a recent JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.

  • keep a backup copy of places.sqlite in case a new places.sqlite database has to be created
