I am now unable to open a private window. My settings don't seem to work on links - have I locked it down too much? CCleaner tried to foist a browser on me?

CCleaner piggy-backed a browser on to the system uninvited which annoys me intensely Since then links on emails or in a video in a magazine may or may not work asking what do I need to open this or not able to open because of privacy? Before it has always been automatic. Also I am now unable to open a private window. My system setting for Firefox seem to out of order somehow which could well be me trying to get it to work properly! I am confident you will tell me to stop fiddling and do this or that

So you are saying that CCleaner added a browser without your consent and then it doesn't allow you to open a private window? I don't fully understand

I suppose if I understood I wouldn't be asking you. That may be a co-incidence, I don't know. All I know is that whwn I select 'open private window' a 'standard' page opens. I have tried to state what has happened recently which may be revelant or it may not. I have attempted to make my progress around the web as private as I can without attracting attention from unwanted adverts and spam etc. but now Firefox will not open a private window. As I said what have I done?

Further information is that I read the online Magazine Railway Herald, I have a problem with logging in - I now have to select from the computer what I want to use to open this instead of it being automatic. There are video clips to view and they are stating that because of privacy I cannot open them. Something is clearly not functioning correctly. Hence my enquiry. Thank you.
