It started two-three weeks ago and it shuts down more often now. I don't remember installing something or doing something different than before. I already cleaned Firefox and it didn't help. Usually I don't have too many bars open and now it closes even if it is only one bar open. It immediatly opens again, but without any reports about the shutting down. Is there a possibility to repair it?

Thank you in advance!

Best regards, Ana Domuta

Hi Ana, Does the Mozilla Crash Reporter come up? If so,

  1. Open Firefox.
  2. Go to [=] >Help > Troubleshooting Information. That should open a new tab with info about your Firefox setup.
  3. Under "Crash Reports for the Last 3 Days" click on your latest crash report. That should take you to a web page starting with "https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/" and post the address of your latest crash report.

We can then look at the data specific to your crash and have a better idea of what is causing the problem.

When does this happen? While browsing? Stopping on a page? Any web page/site?

Dear Chris, Here the link to my last crash report: https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/7f770606-b980-45f8-986a-d6a940190120.

Dear FredMcD, It happens while I'm browsing or open Mozilla. I don't think there are specific websites on which it crashes down. Today I just started Mozilla and it went directly down. It opened immediatelly afterwards without any report about the failure.

Is this the only report for the last few days?

A ShutDownKill means something about the browser is not closing properly.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Hi Ana, Unfortunately, the reports lead to a generic issue in which one process is not closing on time, when Firefox is trying to shut down. Given that you did not intend to shut down Firefox at all, the issue not really applicable here.

Could you try the solutions in the following article, and see if any of them help: Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly)

We'll need some more info about your Firefox setup.

  1. Go to [=] > Help > Troubleshooting Information then click Copy text to Clipboard.
  2. Go to https://pastebin.com/ and go to Edit > Paste to paste the info from your Troubleshooting Information page.
  3. In Firefox, click on the three dots to the right of the address, and select Copy Link.
  4. Open a reply to this post, and go to Edit > Paste to paste the link to your troubleshooting information.

Did the instructions in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) article not work?

Hi Chris,

unfortunatelx the Firefox Article recommended me to get community support. I tried deactivating the safe modus, but crashes still happened.

Best regards, Ana
