Hi !

Suddenly I can't download any smaller file on firefox. It started to happen probably from last firefox update. Every file is - failed. Only files that i can download are bigger files (+100mb) but these files are also interrupted so you must always "retry" them. Smaller files simply fail to download.

I tried many things from troubleshooting tutorial but nothing works. I have many tabs, sessions, bookmarks etc that I don't want to disappear so I don't want to delete profile.

Thanks

Are they from the same site? And do you have other addon installed?

No. Any small file, any site.

I started in safe mode without addons installed but still can't download.

It is possible that security software (anti-virus, firewall) is causing the problem. Try to disable security software temporarily to see if that makes a difference.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support to see if that has effect in case security software is causing problems.

I started in safe mode and it worked ! Only problem is that i dont remember having anti-virus or anti-spyware software. When I started normal mode again, it happened again - couldn't download. I disabled addons and still it isn't working. How can I check if I have anti virus or antispyware software installed? Or maybe its something else.

This is a problem then if your not aware of what is being installed and running on your computer here. So your going to have to do some looking to figure what is causing the system problem.

But it worked until week ago. Also some videos can't open (yt is working). It seems that problem with downloading and videos started after last firefox update.

You can use the MSConfig program or the Autoruns utility to see what software is getting started (be cautious with disabling services).

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.

Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.

Make sure you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.
