A few days ago avg gave a warning of two files that could be malicious. The files were deleted. Firefox stopped working for a while till I changed a couple of setting in about:config. Firefox started to work but gmail has not, even though I am already signed in. Other google services are running fine. I have refreshed, reloaded firefox and looked on the mozilla support pages for answers but to no avail. Gmail works on internet explorer.

FF is a Browser not a email program. You should check your AVG settings as it sounds like a AVG caused problem.

Suggest not pay attention to AVG/Avast any longer. It deleted files that were just fine.

Version 62.0.2 has fixed the issue before AVG did anything about the issue they caused.

Please Reinstall Firefox or do a Refresh.
