problem 1. on 9/12/18 my firefox was updated, probably to the new version. Gmail is no longer recognized. Until 9.11 my desktop and laptop used Firefox and Gmail was recognized. I still use firefox on my desk top, but on the microsoft 3 tablet I'm switching to another browser until this Gmail problem gets resolved.

problem 2; what happened to home button on the new firefox.

Were you able to restore the toolbar Home button? Note that the Firefox developer have a way to move items on the Navigation Toolbar around, so it is possible that this button moved to a different position.

I have two computers; a dell desktop and a tablet, microsoft surface 3 about 5 years old or more.

Before 9/12/18 both computers recognized my Gmail acct. Now, only the desktop does. The tablet wants me to get a new password. I know you are going to say the problem is with Gmail.

If that is so, why is it that on the tablet, only Firefox is giving me trouble. Edge and Chrome recognize my Gmail acct as does my desktop with Firefox. The last update on my table with firefox was 9/12.

Is it possible that you are typing in the wrong password? What is the exact error message?
