I'm getting an 'download a fresh version' notification. When I click on download I get 6 choices. I've got 62.0b6
Getting a notification like I asked for when updates are avail. Update to 'FRESH' version is what it says. When I click to download that I get 6 choices of different downloads for different things. I'm using 62.0b6 now. Is that up to date?

You have to run the file it saves. Go to your downloads (close Firefox first) then run the file

What does it say ?
Current version is around 12b or 13b I think
Hi, I 'replied' with photos of issue through my phone. You probably didn't get them?? I think have to talk/photos here, right??
Do you want to be using Firefox Beta? Or do you want the regular version of Firefox?
If not, please go to www.getfirefox.com
Why are the pics SO BIG!?? Through my phone and with my camera, too big to send . Says will only take size 1024mb
KB, 1024 KB Anyhoo, I click to download FRESH COPY and goes to another page TAKE A BROWSE ON THE WILD SIDE with explanations and downloads for the following: BETA DEVELOPER EDITION NIGHTLY
I guess I have regular Foxfire 62.0b6 Correct, didn't think I wanted any of those choices. Normally the updates come as a pop up and I'll determine whether to load then. Why aren't I getting that pop up to update instead of this Bata, etc. one?? Why would I need to go to the link below?? I need to go to getfirefox.com
Thanks, always so hard to explain through chat
No, you have Beta Firefox. You want regular Firefox. I'm not sure why you have the beta one, perhaps because someone else set it up.
Please download regular Firefox from www.getfirefox.com, and install it. You'll then have version 61.0.2
Can you see what I've had in the past, before Beta? Things haven't been running as smooth lately. Wait I have 62.0b6
The 61.0.2 is newer?
No, 61.0.2 is the Stable version of Firefox. Beta Firefox is meant for software testers and developers. If you aren't either of those I'd STRONGLY suggest you install the regular version of Firefox, and keep it up to date.
It's not downloading open 'installer', save file nothing else happens

Release < Beta < Nightly
There is also the Developers Edition which is basically same as Beta but with additional developers features.
The Release and Beta are separate channels so you would not get a update prompt to current Release while using a Beta channel build.
The b6 on 62.0b6 means it was the sixth Beta build of 62.0 and is old as the current Beta build of 62.0 is actually 62.0b20 ( 20 as in twenty).
Normally there are say nine to fourteen Beta builds of a version on the Beta channel.
Downloading Firefox from www.mozilla.org or www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ will only serve you the current Release.
Firefox 62.0 for Release is scheduled for September 5th.
I found out since that message that I did have the BETA....62.0b6 Not sure how I got that one....
I did have an issue last download/update my homepage lost all its icons/most used sites. Others had that issue too. I may have had the BETA then cause I was given the 62.0b6 to use to correct that problem
I've now replaced BETA with the basic current edition 61.0.2 I presume that will work for me just regular surfing going on here. Will I notice a difference going from BETA to REGULAR/BASIC?? I will see the 62 notification in Sept.
Thanks for all who chimed in, helped me to get straight. :)
You had the 62.0b6 Beta build because of the suggestion in your other thread back in early July to try the then current Beta. /questions/1223429
