I downloaded FireFox for Windows and now have following 2 files in my dowload folder: Firefox Setup 59.0.3 and Firefox Setup 59.0.3 (1). Which one is 64bit?.
I downloaded FireFox for Windows from FreewareFiles.com. I now have 2 files in my download folder: Firefox Setup 59.0.3 and Firefox Setup 59.0.3 (1). Which one is 64bit and which one is 32bit?. Please include the platform in the filename. Anything like x64 and x86 or Win64 and Win32 or even plain 64bit and 32bit will do. Thank you.

Hi, I would not trust those as they can be loaded with malware. Please only download from official Mozilla Sites or please download full version installers from here : Current version 59.0.3

- Basically it’s the website’s responsibility to name the files accordingly, but you should know whether you clicked the 32- or 64-bit link, as well as check the URL when clicking.
- You can right-click both downloaded files and choose the Properties > Compatibility tab to see whether they are 32 -or 64-bit downloads. (*)
- Although the web page you mentioned links to Mozilla’s FTP URL, it’s always best to download Firefox from here instead of any general download site. The file names will however be similar.
- Without investigating, it’s likely a policy to no longer include e.g. (x86) in installers as most will be 64-bit soon anyway. Additionally, this forum is not a place for such a request, but you could use the Help > Send Feedback option for that if you want.
Another problem with random unofficial download sites is regardless whether they host the download themselves or link to Mozilla, they usually only serve the en-US version. Would prefer that freeware site use archive.mozilla.org though.
So another reason why the www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ is the better place as you can choose the location and OS version yourself. Unless using a useragent on WinXP/Vista you will be served current Firefox 52 ESR version.
Windows users download from www.mozilla.org will get a stub installer based on the location for language and will by default install Win64 Firefox if the user has both sufficient RAM and have a 64-bit Windows 7, 8, 10. Windows

If Firefox drops 32 bit support, I and many others will drop Firefox.

One cannot download (from Mozilla) a 32 bit version from a 64 bit system to use on another system (32bit) . I normally keep both versions on a external drive, as I work on many different machines with 32bit and 64 bit Operating Systems.

How do you figure this?
The www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ will let you download any OS version you want regardless if you have Windows 7, 8, 10, Mac OSX or Linux. Only exception is if you have a web browser useragent showing NT 5.1/NT 5.2 or or NT 6.0 for WinXP or Vista then you will get served current version of 32-bit Firefox 52 ESR if try to download a Windows version with said UA.
