I am totally fed up with firefox coming up with secure connection failed. for years never had this at all then last few months or more now, plagued with it, even my google homepage fails at first try, click try again and again and again and eventually in, or relaunch firefox and in. no fixes forthcoming to my post on this. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/how-resolve-secure-connection-failed-certificate-error-alexander shows a scary fix he says.

tried that from another thread and no joy.

https://www.photools.com/community/index.php?topic=810.0 in 5th para has link to youtube, I get secure connection failed.

paste this thread into IE and that link in 5th para lets me straight in. This prompts this thread to firefox, and i want a fix !!!!!

what is firefox going to do about this as one poster said there was acknowledgement of this error and a fix was forthcoming but it didnt work and so it goes on.

THIS IS NUTS, get us back the working firefox.

I remember your earlier thread:

Secure Connection failed keeps occurring for google home page after FF facelift !

I still don't know why you can't get into Google despite multiple reloads, but if exit Firefox and start it up again, you can get right in.

Hi, can you all access that youtube video via firefox after opening that article link in FF then clicking the link ?

I am with Kaspersky Internet Security 2018 and been using KIS for many yrs now.

I will try for the sugestions in those links.

This current example I simply cannot get into even after reloading Firefox.

Hi, seems there was a issue with Kaspersky when using Master Password and fix was to disable Mater Password in Firefox.

This probably would be best to follow your issue up in the Kaspersky Forum

https://forum.kaspersky.com/

You can check if there is more detail about the issuer of the certificate available.

  • click the "Advanced" button show more detail
  • click the blue SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER message to show the certificate chain
  • click "Copy text to clipboard" and paste the base64 certificate chain text in a reply

If clicking the SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER text doesn't provide the certificate chain then try these steps to inspect the certificate.

  • open the Server tab in the Certificate Manager
    • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security -> Certificates: View Certificates -> Servers: "Add Exception"
  • paste the URL of the website (https://xxx.xxx) in it's Location field.

Let Firefox retrieve the certificate -> "Get Certificate"

  • click the "View" button and inspect the certificate

You can see detail like the issuer of the certificate and intermediate certificates in the Details tab.
