After switching back to Firefox 53, My Bookmarks are not here. Even using Snyc. New Bookmarks also won't appear on the Bookmark toolbar.

So, i hated Firefox 57 and i had enough of it after using it for about a year and switched back to Firefox 53. Now even after using Snyc and putting the Bookmarks toolbar items on the Bookmark Toolbar, My Bookmarks DON'T APPEAR. Not even Bookmarks i add. It might've been the installer i downloaded but it probably wasn't, well the only thing i can say more is OH EGADS, MY firefox bookmark toolbar IS RUINED (yes that was a joke with the Steamed Hams meme.)

Why Firefox 53 beta 9??

Sometimes the "Places" database that stores bookmarks and history is changed in a way that cannot work after a Firefox downgrade. I think the Firefox 59 format only can be read by Firefox 56 and later, but it's difficult to remember at this point.

Q: Can you view the bookmarks in the Library window (Ctrl+Shift+b or "Show All Bookmarks"), in their respective categories (Bookmarks Menu, Bookmarks Toolbar, Other Bookmarks).

If the bookmarks are missing and can't be added, you could try removing the database and letting Firefox recover a bookmarks backup to populate a new one. Or did you try that already? This article has the steps:

Fix "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional" error message

P.S. Firefox 57 was released in mid-November 2017, so it only felt like a year.

When you see a Firefox file with say 53.0b9 as version then that means it was the ninth Beta channel build of Firefox 53.0 out of thirteen Beta builds. This will put you on the Beta channel so if you were to allow updates you would get updated to Beta channel builds of 60.0 (current is 60.0b13).

If you must use a older version like 53.0 then at least consider Firefox 52 ESR so you will have security fixes and be more secure.

The current 52 ESR version is at https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/organizations/all/ which is 52.7.3esr currently.

The last major 52 ESR update will likely be 52.9.0esr out on June 26.0
