"Override the colors specified by the page with your selections above" Breaks images
Setting "Override the colors specified by the page with your selections above" to "Always" breaks many site's images. Regarless of color chosen, did reset to the colors in about:config, regardless of addons, started with addons disabled, tried different themes, im using default theme "dark". There are more sites broken, example duckduckgo.com, the center image of the duck, is gone with the setting enabled. Image shows difference between "never" and "always".

It is very much normal behaviour, though I wouldn't say intended, rather expected. Firefox doesn't intend to break those pages, but the pages aren't helping when they use background images for non-backgroundish stuff. The color settings are very much a relict from the early days of the Web, when pages were very simple visually. Nowadays, all styling is left to the sites themselves, that's why they all look distinct and it's easy to break them. Tampermonkey, Stylish, Greasemonkey and other similar addons exist for fine-grained control over style and behavior of sites, i.e. you specify a style per site, not globally. The latter two addons seem broken at the moment, otherwise I would recommend Stylish as it seems to include non-technical users.

The images your are mentioning are set as background images. Firefox' background color overrides settings from the site. While the images are gone, functionality should not be hampered. Also, non-decorative images should be displayed, as is the case on duckduckgo.com when you scroll down a bit.
Firefox' color settings primary use is for accessibility reasons, i.e. present content without distractions and good contrast. There are addons which let you style more selectively, for example Tampermonkey, though it requires some Web knowledge.

I now realize your screenshot is from the built-in Firefox start page. That might be bug report worthy, but I can also imagine the report being turned down because removed images mean less distraction, right? :-) So in this case not only expected, but also intended. Anyway, if you want to try, please read the guidelines on bug writing before reporting.
Well thank you, i already use stylish, issue is that context menu for example is still white, way too bright to browse in the dark like i do many times, also some sites back very white-ish backgrounds and it just blinds me. I figured i could just set a grey Background for all pages and be done with it, i see now i just can't.
