I ran a Norton full scan and it found nothing. I'm now running Malwarebytes.

Any clue what got corrupted in FF to allow this to happen? Windows 10, Firefox 53.0.3

Separate Issue; Your System Details shows;

Installed Plug-ins

Shockwave Flash 23.0 r0 Shockwave Flash 25.0 r0
Having more than one version of a program may cause issues. You must remove the older programs. Then get the current full installer.

Flash: Grab the uninstaller from here:

http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html Uninstall Flash Player | Windows

http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-mac-os.html Uninstall Flash Player | Mac

Then reinstall the latest version.

Note: Windows users should download the active_x for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).

Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the active_x.

Flash Player Version: 25.0.0.171

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ Direct link scans current system and browser Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, Win IE . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

Is it opening porn with your home page, or instead of?

Type about:config<enter> in the address bar. If a warning screen comes up, press the Be Careful button. At the top of the screen is a search bar. Type browser.startup.homepage

What is the value? Right-click and select Reset to restore its default value; about:home

You may have ad/mal-ware. Further information can be found in this article; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware?cache=no

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

I ran both Norton's full scan and malwarebytes. Neither found anything.

On the separate issue, I'd seen that and inactivated the old, since I couldn't see how to uninstall flash. thanks for that info and I'll reset everything.

Oh, and on the third one, home page hasn't been changed. When I restart FF each time, it goes back to the home page. It's just that a couple of times that tab changes from the home page to porn.

We'll see if fixing flash helps, since I can't see anything else at this point.

Well, that was interesting. I rant the uninstaller. When I restarted, it showed both plug-ins gone. I installed fresh, restarted and it showed both plug-ins back. I closed, then ran the uninstaller twice, just in case it did one each time. That time, restarting showed nothing again, I installed and restarted and this time it's only showing v25.

Joy...

Thanks for your help  :)

If you want to make sure, type about:plugins<enter> in the address box.

Look under Adobe Flash.

Is the porn still a problem?
