When I lose Wi-Fi or Internet my opened tabs and Pinned tabs are not restored when Fx is opened again. No problem with this when Fx crashes and it restarts. ALL my options are set correctly as I have been using Fx for years and know how to set them so I get my tabs (pinned or otherwise) to show after I close and reopen Fx. No problem even when I put computer to sleep. I am using latest version (51.0.1 at present time) on Win 10.

History>Restore Previous Session has always been grayed out. Opening Menu on right side never shows any method of restoring previous pinned tabs. In fact, my drop down menu doesn't even look like Mozilla's suggested fix for this problem. Restoring these tabs one by one from History is ridiculous.

Any simple solution other than trying to track down a json history rstore file which may or may not be there after lost of Internet, a surprise computer restart or a system crash even? Not sure if a suggested add-on that is suppose to keep track of Fx activity is a correct solution.

Try to use the "Show my windows and tabs from last time" setting to see if that makes Firefox create a sessionstore file in the sessionstore-backups folder.

Firefox uses sessionstore.js in the profile folder to store session data. Sessionstore.js is only present when Firefox is closed. The sessionstore.js file is created from recovery.js when you close Firefox and is removed and copied to previous.js when you start Firefox to make is possible to restore the session at any time.

Backup the session files in the sessionstore-backups folder in the Firefox Profile Folder to make sure not to lose possible important session data. Do NOT close Firefox when Firefox is already running.

You will normally find these files in the sessionstore-backups folder:

previous.js (cleanBackup: copy of sessionstore.js from previous session that was loaded successfully)
recovery.js (latest version of the sessionstore written during runtime)
recovery.bak (previous version of the sessionstore written during runtime)
upgrade.js-<build_id> (backup created during an upgrade of Firefox)

You can copy a file from the sessionstore-backups folder to the main profile and rename the file to sessionstore.js to replace the current file (make a backup copy of the current sessionstore.js).
