Can I copy about:config from a Windoze Vista install to Ubuntu Linux 14.04 install ?

I've been having major problems with cursor control by mouse wheel and keyboard on the Ubuntu install. I've improved it by alterations in about:config, but it's still not right.

I have this install on Windoze Vista that works perfectly, through no fault of my own, just as installed.

Can I simply copy the file from the Windows Vista install to the Ubuntu install to fix it?

If so, what is the file name (about:config ?), and where is it located?

Thanks!

Have you checked that your mouse is not the problem?

What changes did you make to prefs and post the pref names and values?

Could you please describe your problem with more details?

It is not advised to copy the prefs.js file from one OS to another OS like you want to do. You could copy selected lines to the prefs.js file in the current profile folder.

to FredMcD - The mouse and key controls work perfectly in SeaMonkey and Chromium on the same machine.

to cor-el - I already posted more details, see https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1125709

It seems to me that functions should be identical from Windoze to Ubuntu, but maybe that's not so?

Thanks!
