Hi all,

Firefox crashes immediately upon start up. The Mozilla Crash Reporter appears. I have tried the staring in safe mode and a clean install without success. Here are the details from the Crash Reporter:

hi Allen, thanks for providing some information about your crash. this looks like it may be caused by external software on the computer. please go into your system's control panel and remove any software labelled "Freecorder" or similar or by the publisher "Applian Technologies" or any other toolbars.

Thanks for you prompt reply. I opened Control Panel, selected Freecorder, and pressed the Uninstall button. Nothing happened. I also went through the Startup, found the Freecorder program, and tried to use the uninstall program there. Again, it did not uninstall. Do you have a suggestion for another way to uninstall this program?

If you have submitted crash reports then please post the IDs of one or more recent crash reports that start with "bp-".

  • bp-xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx

You can find the report ID of recent crash reports on the "Help > Troubleshooting Information" page (about:support).

  • click the "All Crash Reports" button on this page to open the about:crashes page and see all crash reports.

Thanks. After searching on the internet, I found instructions for removing Freecorder. I used the Revo Uninstall program to remove both Freecorder and another Freecorder program. Now, Firefox starts without crashing.
