There is a really annoying chime that comes up when there is an indicator that shows a tab is playing sound. Can you shut this chime off ?

Firefox itself does not make sounds. This could be an add-on.

Open the link under Shockwave Director above.


Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>

key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

It's not shockwave that's doing it. I've had that for years now. The chime has only been happening for the last couple of days since I updated to Firefox 43.0. Every 20 seconds or so, it does it. Like right now. I uninstalled shockwave even though it was working perfectly fine, and the chime keeps happening.
