I've downloaded FF 41.0.2. Now it has disappeared. Am I O.K.?

Simple question. I saw a new version of FF 41.0.2 when I saw it at https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/releases/ . Now it has disappeared. Am I at risk of anything horrible. It still can be seen at https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/ Seems to be working fine. Can someone tell me what happened? Am I at any risk greater than I was with FF 41.0.1?

Kind Regards,

Axis

I am going to mark this as solved as 41.0.2 now shows up at: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/releases/ and has virtually the same information on a security fix as I saw before.

I believe all this is due to the way Mozilla releases version. I am guessing that those who have automatic install are supposed to get them first, those who have "ask before updating" are supposed to get them later and people like me who do not install the maintenance service and check manually (like me) are supposed to get them last.

All is good for me with 41.0.2

What disappeared? The installer? The browser itself? Shortcut?

Hello Fred--

What disappeared was the link to the release at the first link above: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/releases/

Good to hear from you again.

It may be due to some delivery download errors on ftp.mozilla.org or at least does not help.

For those who know Bugzilla see Bug 1214971 for reading. Please do not comment in report unless you by chance can fix it.

Firefox 41.0.2 is indeed a Release.

Thanks James, good to know that Firefox 41.0.2 is real.

https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/ is still handing out 41.0.1.

https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/releases/ is pretending there is no 41.0.2.

These are website errors, not delivery errors.

Hello James--

"Firefox 41.0.2 is indeed a Release." So I'm good then? See, that release was there and about the time I downloaded and ran it and then checked back it was gone. I am trying to confirm that 41.0.2 was not "withdrawn" for memory leaks or some other reason. Judging by the quote of yours I am assuming I "good to go." Right?

Kind Regards, Axis

I got it via Help -> About Firefox so I assume it's still being handed out through that channel.

Before I do an update, I watch the action here just in case.

That sounds reasonable, but isn't how things work in practice, IME. I have the update set to "Notify me there's an update", then I go download the versions I need for various machines I have and manually update. So when they're available via the auto-update mechanism, they're available via manual download. Except this time.

Actually normally you can download before the updates happen, especially automated vs manual check updates.
