Earlier today, I was redirected during a FB session to log back in - kinda weird, but it took me to a page at facebook.com/r.php. Irt claims my system has malware. neither Norton nor Malwarebytes can find it. When I said OK, it took me to a page asking me to download some software. Of course, I did not.

I checked in Chrome, and I was able to log in with zero issues, so I know something is up. I tried to go to facebook.com/r.php, and it redirected me to the regular FB page, so I know something got me. I uninstalled FF, erased the folders, including AppData, Roaming, etc. Everything I could find. Re-scanned, all clear, then re-installed FF. Issue is still there.

Anyone have any ideas? I hate the idea of wiping my system, especially with W10 in a few weeks! I have a screen cap attached. The pages refer back to fbcdn.net,

Thanks in advance! (Did I find a new bug? or Virus?)

. Whenever you get a message / popup like that;

DO NOT USE ANY OF THE PROVIDED LINKS OR ANY PHONE NUMBERS ! !

Such messages are only Spam that could lead you to Fake Support. Not only can they damage or hack your system, they charge you to do so.

You can report such a site at; Google Report Phishing Page {web link} which is the same when done while on site by going to Help > Report Web Forgery

Help us safeguard Mozilla’s trademarks by reporting misuse {web link}

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

I already knew that; thanks; my message made it clear that I did NOT install their "security" software.

I believe I got this when I clicked on a photo in FB Newsfeeds (of Hillary Clinton (young) with a Confederate Flag to the left of the B&W photo). That is when I was logged out of FB. I changed my login PW from my iPad, but I need to fix the issue on my desktop.

Any help in killing this critter would be welcomed! :)

It could be a legit Facebook warning, according to their help pages:

https://www.facebook.com/help/292760454081612/

https://www.facebook.com/help/226527600691713

Maybe you unintentionally shared bad content or someone else used your account to spread bad stuff. At least, Facebook seems to think so.

Try to skip the step that is asking you to run their tool, if FB lets you. Or download the program but do NOT run it. Then FB might let you continue the login process if you're lucky.

But I'm afraid that your only choice is to run Facebook's tool to be able to continue with the login process on that computer, as this forum thread suggests:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/581617/i-cant-get-into-facebookpopup-page-says-i-have-malware/

Anyway I would first run more virus scans using more antivirus programs that you trust. For example:

And check the Firefox proxy settings in Options > Advanced > Network.

Also, access FB settings from your iPad and review your list of Trusted Browsers.

My problem is that when I search for a website, it gives me the following message. I'm using Win10. No option for adding exception. Nothing. If I don't already know the URL, I'm dead in the water. HELP.
