Are you clearing cookies when you close Firefox?

I don't know. How do stop it from clearing cookies when I close Firefox

I checked to see if it was clearing cookies and it is NOT clearing cookies

I have not received a response and I have tried to fix the problem and I can't. I am not clearing cookies so I don't know what else to do but to go back to IE.

When you say "re-register", do you log-in with your usual account number and password? That is the way secure bank accounts should work. I would hate to think that you could go straight from your bookmark, avoiding the log-in page, into your accounts. I presume that you have tried it recently with IE. Or by "re-register", do you mean that you have to establish a new user name or password? Are the three accounts accessible together i.e. via the one log-in in IE? Have you checked with you bank?

Cookies are sent by web sites. They keep things like log-in / setting and other information.

Type about:preferences#privacy <enter> in the address bar.

The button next to History, select Use Custom Settings.

Under History, turn on Accept cookies from sites and Accept third-party cookies.

For some web sites, like forums and such, you do not need to log out. That is because these are low security sites. Important information would not likely to be here.

HOWEVER ! ! ! Banks, stores and other such High Security sites Do Have important information ( credit card, address, SSN . . . .) and you should Always Log Out when you are done.

Firefox built in Password Manager is set up to hold your log-in information and can post it on the web page for that site. The data is encrypted to prevent others from getting at them..

If I close the web page accidentally, my Bank - and I hope they all do this - automatically logs me out. For "logs" you can read "locks".

I made sure it was not clearing cookies so I don't know any other way of fixing it. I am accepting cookies and accepting cookies from 3rd parties, according to my settings

Information can be removed or not recorded several ways;

• 1) Running Firefox in Private Mode (nothing is recorded)
• 2) Privacy settings
  (Type about:preferences#privacy<enter>
  in the address bar.)
• 3) Many disk cleaners and anti-virus type programs can remove data from browsers. Open their settings and have them leave the browsers alone.
• 4) Mal-ware.

Details like websites remembering you (log you in automatically) are stored in a cookie.

• Create a cookie 'allow' exception to keep such cookies, especially in case of secure websites and when cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
• Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: Exceptions

In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes" or otherwise clear history:

• do not clear the Cookies
• do not clear the Site Preferences

• Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history": [X] "Clear history when Firefox closes" > Settings

Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, passwords, and other website specific data.

Clearing cookies will remove all specified (selected) cookies including cookies with an allow exception that you would like to keep.
