I recently moved to another email provider. Since the move I use a new email address (account). The mail in the previous used imap account must be saved. Since the old server at the provider has been blocked. A lot of emails have to saved for some years. Do you have a suggestion how to save the mail? Thanks, Paul

Using Thunderbird desktop for Windows with my Hotmail account, I frequently cannot send an outgoing email. I regularly get the following message even while successfully receiving incoming messages.

Send Message Error Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail: Outgoing server (SMTP) error. The server responded: Cannot connect to SMTP server 2603:1036:308:2817::2 (2603:1036:308:2817::2:587), connect error 10060.

I use Thunderbird for Android with the same email account without any issues. Any thoughts?

Copied Thunderbird Profile from Windows 10 PC, pasted to Windows 11 PC - No email history or address book

I followed the steps to copy the profile from the old PC and paste it into the folder on the old PC.

Thunderbird is using that profile, but there are no email history or address book.

i just recently re-installed a new ver. of TB 
tonight i go to reply to an e-mail & notice the send function is not avail to send reply see attach 
the button is grayed out & there is no send function 

i did have my address book avail but it is not visible either ( this is another issue i have ) i did move from another profile

don`t know how to fix either 

both profiles have the following files in them which do i have to copy & paste or overwrite see attach

How do I configure the new "Local Folders" archive set just created - so they'll be displayed and searchable in the Email folder view?

Thunderbird v128.9.0esr (64-bit) on Linux Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS

I have archived emails on my IMAP server for some time.

Now to avoid a full quota on the server I have reconfigured the Archive to "Local Folders" and changed the configuration to yyyy/yyyy-mm.

After archiving "fresh" emails and re-archiving from the IMAP server archive folder

I can see the respective sequences of folders under the menu

• Account Settings
• email@account.com
• Copies & Folders
• Archives on Local Folder

and within the file selector menu

• Archives on Local Folders
• Local Folders
• Archives
• 2023
• 2023-01
• 2023-02
• etc

The result in the email account folder shows the old "Archive" folder - but now emptied - alongside new (unarchived) emails.

On interrogating the Archive folder properties the location reported is the (previous) IMAP address.

So how do I:

1. identify the location of the newly created "Local Folders" archive set, and
2. make the Archive folder set display and be searchable in the Email folder view?

2 questions 1- when we move some email folder to local folder does it reduce the amount of running data for the app. 2- I have move a folder to local folder and it seems I have lost all of them may be because I already had a folder with that same name in there

We have been having problems loading and filing emails lately. I know that we have new messages, but the email icon on the inbox is greyed out and we are getting an message saying 'no new messages', see below.

I open the calendar "Algemeen" on my Windows 11 installation and see this message:

All calendars are currently disable. Enable an existing calendar or add a new one to create and edit events.

How do I enable a calendar? If I click the three dots next to the calendar "Algemeen" or right click "Algemeen" I and select properties I see it is enabled:

I have no idea why, but TB is wonking out lately with strange errors?

The folder '[Gmail]/Sent Mail on me@mydomain.com' could not be compacted because writing to folder failed. Verify that you have enough disk space, and that you have write privileges to the file system, then try again.

I have a ton of space and have not changed anything on the PC?

Any ideas?

I am not receiving emails from my laptop, but i do on my iphone and ipad. I have had to change my password with Telstra so do I have to change my password and if so how do i do it?

I was attempting to add a gmail address (one of mine) to Thunderbird. I got what you see in the attached. It's taking up one of my two entire monitors. (I'm writing via the 2nd monitor.) There's no title bar. The listed links don't work Ctrl F4 to close the window doesn't work. It's stuck there (Hung).

AND, "ALLOW" doesn't appear.

I'm going to have to reboot. But I really need to set this up.

today, suddenly, my mailboxes disappeared. not the messages, but the mailboxes. i can't access sent, trash, etc because they no longer appear in my window. also, the download and compose buttons have disappeared from my toolbars. i am using the latest (april 15, 2025) upgrade, running on Mac's Sequoia 15.0.1. i have tried to find a place to restore the mailbox display and cannot.

Auto configure does not auto configure. can get texts at [edited phone# from community support forum]

I believe incoming mail is POP3 and Outgoing is IMAP on Spectrum server in Utica NY

Or it was before Thunderbird did this update.
