Password fields auto-populating with usernames?

I've noticed this problem on several websites. I'll enter my username in the username field, then select the password field, but as soon as I enter a character there, my username is automatically copied into the password field. I can tell it's my username because it's always the same number of characters.

For example, if I enter my username as "JohnDoe", then go to the password field, as soon as I enter the first character of my password, 7 dots will appear. If I instead enter my username as "John", then when 4 dots will appear in the password field.

I don't have "remember password" enabled, and the only change I've made to my Firefox app is getting AdBlock Plus, although the problem persists even when I disable the add-on. I'm using a Note 2, for what it's worth. Any ideas?

Is this a site you have been to before? It might be the password manager is auto-filling the password. Go to Firefox > Saved Passwords.. Look at the entries. Their is a search box to help you.
