If I need to upload a file I click on the OPEN or BROWSE button in the website, Open File dialogue opens trying to list the location it is already looking at, and it hangs for over 30 seconds before listing files. This is windows 11, but it did it when i had windows 10 too. I dont know what to do.

Interesting... Yeah, In win11 there's a lot more going on. Just look at the number of processes running in task manager. When was the last time you cleared windows temp files in the below locations? C:\Windows\Temp C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Temp

What does task manager look like during this process? Is the processor or c drive busy in task manager? Are your using a M.2 or SATA? I'm running M.2s. Is the upload folder on the c drive or network? What security software besides MS Defender are you running? If you're running Windows Pro version, I would test in the Sandbox to confirm. https://www.howtogeek.com/399290/how-to-use-windows-10s-new-sandbox-to-safely-test-apps/

System info: What are the specs of your computer. Here are my specs in Linux.

Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20250706 KDE Plasma Version: 6.4.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.15.0 Qt Version: 6.9.1 Kernel Version: 6.15.4-1-default (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 12 × Intel® Core™ i7-9850H CPU @ 2.60GHz Memory: 128 GiB of RAM (125.1 GiB usable) Graphics Processor: Intel® UHD Graphics 630 Manufacturer: HP Product Name: HP ZBook 17 G6

The machine is AMD Ryxzen 7 2700 eight core, 3200Mhz 16GB Ram, M2 for C:drive and /windows

... but the problem happens beyond firefox, so it's not an actual Firefox problem. Going to windows explorer - Folder Options - and in General, bottom of Window PRIVACY a slightly badly laid out option calle dCLEAR FILE EXPLORER HISTORY and a clear button ... helped a lot. I'll have a look at the TEMP directories cos fact is they will be huge. Thanks
