The page isn’t redirecting properly; cleared cache/cookies
When searching queries, this error will come up; however, when searching full length URLs it works and sends me directly to the website. I've looked through the Q/As and they all recommend clearing cache/cookies and messing with the history settings to resolve the problem. However, after doing all that and messing with other settings I cannot seem to understand why this started to happen.
When in private browsing mode it works fine and I can ask whatever and I receive all the possible websites to click on. It's just on normal browsing that I receive the error message. Am I going to need to just uninstall Firefox and reinstall to fix this? Or maybe there's something else I can try out. Thanks!

You can remove all data stored in Firefox for a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox for this domain like history and cookies and passwords and exceptions and cache, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data for that domain that you do not want to lose, make sure to backup this data or make a note.
You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.
If you revisit a 'forgotten' website, data for that website will be saved once again.
If clearing cookies doesn't help, it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder that stores the cookies got corrupted.
- rename/remove cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and when present delete cookies.sqlite-shm and cookies.sqlite-wal in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed in case cookies.sqlite got corrupted.
Does it still happen in Troubleshoot Mode? The Multi-Account Containers extension can cause issues like this when a site is limited to a certain container.
It doesn't happen in Troubleshoot Mode. So since it doesn't happen in troubleshoot mode, I should start there and try to figure out what's causing this issue. How about refreshing Firefox, would that be better?
Do you have (content blocking) extensions that deal with cookies ?
If it works in Troubleshoot Mode and in regular mode with all extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) disabled, try to find which extension is causing the problem by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
Close and restart Firefox after each change via one of these:
- "3-bar" menu button -> Exit (Power button)
- Windows: File -> Exit
- Mac: Firefox -> Quit Firefox
- Linux: File -> Quit
Thank you 2 for the responses. I'm not sure how, but it seems to fix itself. While I was originally able to search exact websites, I wasn't able to search queries or single word searches; but it's working now for some reason. I'll make sure to save this thread in case it happens again. Thank you!
