Very stupidly I accidentally deleted my recent @btinternet account which had been working fine (I was tidying up old accounts no longer needed). After trying to add it back again I keep getting requests for password to sign in at all stages, even when opening up Tbird. This always results in the message 'login to server mail.btinternet.com failed. I have not (ever) changed my BT password. I can access BT webmail. I have added the BT account (IMAP) both automatically and then manually - same result. All this happened a few days ago and following all the posts on here I have waited patiently as recommended. However, I feel that this may be a problem other than BT server issue as it happened after I deleted the original account. Looking around I notice that the Local Directory for Message storage has two folders for mail.btinternet.com but that's the only thing I can see that may be wrong?

Update - I cannot in fact add my previously deleted @btinternet account. If I try Auto add for both IMAP and POP I get message Unable to Log In at Server - probably wrong config, username or password. If I try manually adding I get the message 'TB failed to find settings for your email account' I now realize the previous post re password requests was because I had 'added' the account incompletely. As an experiment I added a brand new @btinternet account (IMAP) without any problems.
