I am / was such a huge fan of Mozilla. But now I lose my qualitity of being patient. This Update window coming up more and more. But there is no way to find - especially not an easy way. I need to make a new installation of the full programme. While doing this, I lost my full bookmarks. No chance to recover after five hours. I am really mad. Really mad.

I will leave Mozilla soon, if you dont tell me, how to use your browser without trouble.

Tonight Firefox updated itself and when the routine finished the new default-release profile did not contain any of my data including bookmarks.

I tried to launch the profile default in a new browser but this was empty too.

can anyone help me locate my data and restore it in the new profile?

I lost my bookmarks and toolbar and cannot save any new bookmarks. I found the backup for the bookmarks but I am unable to restore. I also cannot find my profile file either. What can I do?

I need to find where all my bookmarks are on my computer so I can restore them. My operating system is Windows 7. Even when I try to restore through import/backup and it says it was successful there are none of my saved bookmarks. Can you help in specific steps how I can get these back? From what I read there should be a Firefox file on my computer where these are all saved. Thanks!!

I was on my laptop W 11. Shut down opened up again and all my old firefox data was all gone. no pw no bookmarks no history. Shut down restarted etc. Some strange new profile window opened up, which is awful, showed up how do I get back the old one? Thank you

ello. My favorites have disappeared from my Windows 11 PC. It has happened once before and then I was able to get them back by deleting the sqlite file, now it doesn't work and I need your help with ending firefox processes etc.

My bookmarks have been deleted after firefox automatical update on 15/3/2026. Does anybody know how to recover them? I have tried to import and back up but I couldn't see a solution . thanks

I read the existing articles and followed them, starting with "manage bookmarks". When I click on restore, there is a list of the last 15 backups by date. EVERY one of them results in an error message "unable to process the file".

Manually searching for bookmarks.html or json, resulted in nothing found at first. Then I discovered the path to the bookmarks folder were all hidden folders (after the 'user' folder). I got them to display in file explorer ('show hidden files' selected) and tried to manually select the JSON files that way, to restore bookmarks. That also did not work, resulting in the same message depicted below.

Hi, I opened Firefox to continue with my work, just to get greeted with a 'start a new profile' page. All my profiles, saved data, history, add-ons and customization, were discconected/removed. Even on my phone it logged me out from my account- logging back in doesnt retrieve my history from my previous sessions on my desktop device.

I tried logging in to my account, checking if theres an 'old firefox' folder on my device or anything like that, but it did not retrieve any of my old data.

Just to clarify, I have not played around with my settings, left or deleted anything, so I really dont understand why I've just came back to nothing.

Was wondering why this happened, how do I know this won't happen in the future, and if, when possible, how can i get all my data back?

I turned on Firefox this morning and its all changed I have no bookmarks no menu and no search bar I hate this new system Why cant i go back to the previous version ???

It looks like my firefox profile got corrupted during a power outage is there a way to repair it or at the very least get back my opened tabs? I had lot of them and it will take a long time to find them all again...

What seems like ages ago Firefox stopped displaying bookmarks I addition it would not add new bookmarks nor restore the existing ones. I've gone through all of the corrective procedures listed on and off but nothing works. As a final attempt I deleted the program and reinstalled it. No change. It seems to me that perhaps a missing file from another program or system is missing. Maybe!

I have been using an alternate system for some time. When installed it had no problem finding all of the Firefox bookmarks and placed them on the menu bar as "Firefox Bookmarks". I have no issues with using them but all new ones are stored in the current browser. Thus the new ones do not go into the folders previously set up. I've avoided moving them manually to the new system due to the volume but I am ready to bite the bullet.

I prefer Firefox but it's just not working.

Can anyone save Firefox for me.

After a usual, recent automatic Firefox update my passwords and other data (bookmarks, history etc) are missing. The update took place around March 4 and on March 10 I used Smart Switch by Samsung to transfer and sinc my phone data on my pc. After this operation I noticed the missing data and all attempts for the various methods to restore data were unsuccessful. Please advice on how to restore passwords etc..
