When entering credit card info in a web form, Firefox will pop up a dialog asking if I'd like to save the card info. If I click yes, the dialog closes but the info is not saved. If I go into settings where one can view the saved cards and enter the info to save a new one, I can enter one but again it does not actually save. There is no error, it just doesn't save. Tailing journalctl shows no errors, and launching Firefox from a console and watching the output doesn't show any error either.

It's been this way over several updates over the course of a few months (as long as I've been using Firefox on this computer).

My print preview is no longer available, and the new one is too small to see what's on the page. It's useless! Also, simplify page is gone (I understand "Reader View") is the work-around. Also, it's many extra clicks to get to my system print controls to print properly.

Solving the print preview too small would go a long way towards keeping Firefox usable. The other things could certainly use fixing, however.

Thanks in advance! L.

(I have restored the old functionality temporarily with print.tab_modal.enabled preference set to false. Thanks community for showing me to do so! See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1322623 if you want to know how. However, usually Firefox takes these options away soon. )

I am unable to print from Firefox Browser. I get the following error message "An error occurred while printing" . I have tried updating to the latest version of FF 84.0.1 (64-bit), doing a Refresh, following the Support suggestions for printer problems, editing my profile etc. To no end. I don'tr know what this would fall under. So I chose other

I cannot use this browser anymore. At first I thought it was web root, because on the options page it said, "this browser is run by this organiztion" or some such crap. and if I click on it, it said webroot.

I CONTROL THIS, I AM THE ORGANIZATION. SO I GOT RID OF WEBROOT.

Once again, when i made FIREFOX THE DEFAULT, IT CHANGES ,MY OTHER DEFAULTS. THIS IS A NIGHTMARE, I DON'T KNOW OF ANYONE WHO WOULD USE A BROWSER THAT DOES THAT. iT CHANGES MY PDF FILES INTO LITTLE ICONS OF FIREFOX AND IT DOESN'T GO TO MY EMAIL WHEN I CLICK AN EMAIL LINK IT GOES TO A BOX. I NEVER SET A THING TO DO THAT. I LOOKED ALL OVER THE SETTINGS, AND I CAN'T TELL WHAT IN THE WORLD WOULD CAUSE IT TO DO THAT. I JUST END UP HAVING TO USE CHROME, WHICH IS LIKE TELLING THE WORLD WHAT YOU ARE DOING; SHAME ON YOU FIREFOX, THIS IS A SCREWY AND VERY BAD THING.

I don't like the megabar, and I have looked around to see if there are any fixes for the most recent Firefox 77 update that forces that user to have it (like at least one other update, it just assumes that people like it). I have tried using the userChrome.css file, but that didn't work. I have also tried going into about:config, which also didn't work. Is there any possible way to say 'I never want to see this megabar again in my life'? Or a way to tell the devs that it should NOT be a default option on new updates? Or a way to turn it off that will always be around, unlike the about:config deal? Any help would be great. I attached an image of the megabar.

Location: Australia EST

I am wondering if the following is a known problem. If so, I haven’t been able to find the solution online.

I keep copies of home rental online payments as proof of payment should there be a discrepancy with the real estate agency.

This problem can also apply in other situations, for example payment of online purchases, or movement of large amounts of money to varying institutions.

Sometimes the bank payment is delayed and I would like to ensure that not only the date of payment is accurate but also that the time of payment is relatively close. I am finding that the file printed when banking via Firefox is not time dated relatively close to the time of payment. I use Firefox solely for banking as a secure method.

Upon payment I am presented with a bank receipt and an option to print it, all within Firefox’s desktop application. After pressing the PRINT button I choose to print as PDF and save to the computer. The resulting file is what I am referring to.

The pdf receipt is shown with default details at the top and bottom of the page, the bottom being where the date and time of pdf printing occurred. The discrepancy is between that time shown and the actual time of payment. The difference can be sometimes up to 12 hours!

Can someone please assist me to rectify the situation?

Kind regards, Harauld

For the last 1-2 weeks FF has started saving web photo files as .AVIF files instead of whatever extension the photo actually is online. I cannot find anything in the settings to change this. I am not sure if this was caused by an update, or something I did.

I am using Win 10 64, FF is version 95.0.2 (64-bit)

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks.

The e-mail button just has a google account or a yahoo one. I don't use either of them. I'm just terribly lost since the update.

I see the thread was closed without a solutuion. The CIRCUMVENTION being 'fiddling' about with 'config'. Just to re-state.... Since Firefox 98, PDF files that are OPENED within Firefox are also automatically (and INCORRECTLY) downloaded. If the PDF file is subsequently requested to be downloaded (using the 'button' within the PDF display/window), Firefox will either: Prompt stating that the file already exists; or (if the user picks his/her own filename) a 2nd copy of the file will be downloaded. Sorry to be direct but THIS IS A BUG THAT NEEDS FIXING.

I'm on the latest version of Firefox, and it's unable to play videos on Amazon.com & Netflix.com. Neither did the one before 96.0. I first saw this on Netflix.com and when the tech started asking questions about my operating system, I knew they had pulled a fast one. Now Amazon.com has done the same thing with Firefox. This browser should be hiding the underlying operating system, because it's not necessary. I can use both websites with Chrome and have no issue. The same version of Firefox is on my laptop, but it has no problems because that thing is on Windows 10.

I won't bother with all the nonsense written about troubleshooting, because this is strictly the functionality of those websites peeking under the browser to check the O.S. Firefox needs to fix this hole immediately! You're messing with my money now. Monopolies shouldn't be able to control our hardware like this; they're not paying for any of it.

Oh, my TV is having a problem with the apps, so I was forced to watch videos with my computer instead. My laptop screen is too small and can't have my booming speakers connected to it. My desktop monitor is 34".

When I logged on to FF today, I was urged to continue with an update. I think there was also something about "refreshing". I absentmindedly agreed, figuring it would be okay as other update times before, but not so. I was unaware that the newest update would remove some, or all, of my extensions. I had some important saved data into one of the extensions.

Is there any way for me to go back to the last version just to retrieve the data for safekeeping from the extension and then continue on with the new version as if nothing was amiss?

When I clicked permission, I noticed a file folder "Old Firefox Data" was installed on my desktop. Can I use the contents of that folder to ferret out the information I need?

Thank you so much for any help and suggestions!

I left my FF browser open by accident when I went to bed, no other applications were open. This morning I realized my GPU was sitting at 55c when I looked at the thermistor sensor in the hardware monitor report in precision X1.

As soon as i closed FF the temps went back to 25c in less than 1 minute.

So what is FF doing that consumes so much GPU even when idle?

I had a 2080TI GPU go bad two months ago after sitting idle overnight - now I know why - it was firefox using my GPU and overheating my system (even while not "appearently" doing anything).

I used to be a FF fan, but not anymore after losing a $1200 GPU due to the horrible programming that basically is making FF become a huge contributor to my electricity bill wearing out my hardware.

as of 2021 I am abandoning FF due to concerns of further damaging my PC.

The latest version 84.0.1 for Mac now opens a new print menu, which is terrible. How do I force it to go away and permanently default to "print using the system dialog", which "Firefox help" never heard of. I can't find any way to get rid of it. It is a hateful change to Firefox, I hate it and my sister is in tears. She hates computers anyway. Seniors can't handle these dramatic changes.
