I tried to Connect Dropbox to my desktop, but the page would not load.

Chrome has no problem loading the page.

Could someone please let me know if they have the same problem

When browsing in some websites such as "facebook.com", "mozilla.org", "lenovo.com", I sometimes get a popup to this link, but I don't have any kind of extension that could be causing that I think. What would be a way to troubleshoot this so that I can prevent that from happening? It's really annoying and the site also seems really sketchy.

Hello, Not sure exactly where the problem lies with this one. We have a local UrBackup server running, exposing its http-only web interface on http://hostname.local.domain:55414.

I can no longer browse to this address, Firefox responds with

Secure connection failed and the error code SSL_ERROR_RX_RECORD_TOO_LONG

Looking at the GET request, the scheme is set to https and there is only one request, no redirect.

I can however access the site fine by IP, http://192.168.x.x:55414, AND, by using hostname only, http://hostname:55414, letting Windows fill in our DNS suffix as the network is in an Active Directory domain.

I also have a local Apache server running on my machine, only listening on http on standard port 80. Accessing http://localhost is fine, accessing http://myhostname is fine, but accessing http://myhostname.local.domain again causes FF to switch to an https-request.

What makes me confused is that this behaviour is consistent across browsers, Edge, Chrome, Android on my mobile...

Using Bitdefender for AV/FW, disabling it makes no change.

Tried downloading an older version of Firefox (89) and it does NOT show the same behaviour, URLs load as plain http.

Finally, I tried to add test.subdomain.com as a zone in our DNS and add an A record for the IP of the UrBackup-server, and voila, Firefox requests that site as http without complaining!?

Has the global browser market collectively decided that non TLD:s can no longer be accessed using http, or am I overlooking something obvious?

EDIT: I originally included "false HSTS-requests" in the subject, before realizing that this came from FF redirecting to 443 on my local machine, which has a docker instance listening on that port but using a cert for our public domain, not our local one.

Via google search, I clicked on https://company.bk.com/pdfs/nutrition.pdf, where it said: Invalid SSL certificate Error code 526 Visit cloudflare.com for more information.

[FYI, I don't care, but I never heard of cloudflare.]

I then click on 'additonal troubleshooting information.' on this failure page where it says:

Error 526 occurs when these two conditions are true:

   Cloudflare cannot validate the SSL certificate at your origin web server, and
   Full SSL (Strict) SSL is set in the Overview tab of your Cloudflare SSL/TLS app.

Resolution

For a potential quick fix, set SSL to Full instead of Full (strict) in the Overview tab of your Cloudflare SSL/TLS app for the domain.

So I go to Settings>Privacy and Security. First, no Overview tab. But under enhanced tracking protection, I have Standard selected and with strict one of the options, I think I'm where I supposed to be NO!. So I search for SSL, and there are no hits.

Thus I am in a total failure state, unable to do what should have taken 1 minute to easily find out!

WHY CAN'T I JUST TURN THIS OFF FOR THIS ONE INSTANCE???? I mean, it's Burger King, and all I NEED NOW is nutritional info for what I just ate and there is no way on that results page to temporarily turn off the problem. Cloudflare? CloutFailure is more like it. They have taken my choice to choose!

This so frustrating, such a simple thing, why isn't there something to temp turn off?

I've blocked Autoplay (Audio & Video) for *all* Web sites via the settings menu, but videos still continue to play automatically (abcnews.go.com, for instance).

I went to config:about, and made all the suggested changes I found in Mozilla support. Autoplay seems to be blocked now, but at the expense of Firefox going into an endless loop trying to load and play videos. While in this loop, Firefox is eating up 20% of my CPU sources, which comes to close to making my PC unusable.

I have Firefox 109.0.1, 64-bit.

This has been a chronic problem ever since I've used Firefox. Someone needs to take a MUCH deeper dive into why we can't block autoplay.

Is this new feature? Once I click on link with middle mouse button, that tab is opened and switched to it. Previous firefox versions only opened tab and thats it. It is very frustrating. I want open multiple tabs and then view those tabs. Now I have to, suppose I have 5 links listed in webpage:

I middle mouse 1st link Then I have to return to my previous page I middle mouse 2nd link Then I have to return to my previous page I middle mouse 3rd link Then I have to return to my previous page I middle mouse 4th link Then I have to return to my previous page I middle mouse 5th link Then I have to return to my previous page

If it is new DEFAULT, then please make ant option to switch back in about:config, thanks!

In the address bar red cross padlock sign,when i get adult vaction forum up try to sign in, this connection is not secure logins entered here could be compromised. I cleared cache, junk, and history from my computer, and now I have no bookmarks on Firefox, and when I bring up the restore option it give me several options but not bookmarks. Can someone please help me to restore them. Thanks

I have never used a primary/master password. I updated to 109.0.1 on a computer that had not been used for a few weeks. I do NOT sync FF on any computer. "Use Primary Password" is NOW checked on this 2nd computer. (never used or needed before) In order to try to change this, I was required to enter my password. When I enter the password I use to access mozilla support (the only FF password I have ever had), nothing happens and I do not get any options, i.e., forgot password. I have never been requested to enter a password on any computer (to access FF; only to reach mozilla support.) On my primary computer, "Use Primary Password" is not checked, as it should not be. bold textAfter downloading latest version of Firefox, lost all bookmarks. Followed instructions on restoring, window showed all restored, but all are still missing.

Sync is a nightmare. It is so unintuitive! What exactly would be wrong with having separate Export and Import buttons for each of Settings, Addons, Tabs, History, Bookmarks, etc? I have a desktop box and a newer laptop I wanted to get up to date. I pressed the Sync button on the desktop ... By the way, there`s a link below that reads "Connect another device" ... Connect where? Someone is designing these interfaces who has absolutely zero imagination. Anyways, I signed off, moved the ethernet cable to my laptop, signed in, pressed Sync, and voila!, I got my Bookmarks, at least. But I have no idea how to get my tabs and windows. I tried with a "download link" something or other, but it seemed to assume I was sync-ing to a phone, and didn`t work. Any way to get my tabs?

using firefox version 109 and my internet down load manager no longer works, it works in other browsers but not since updating firefox. not sure if i was successful in posting this request prior to this one so will give it another try. thanks

When I open Firefox it's just a black page and anything I click on isn't responsive. I can't go into options or anything. Sometimes Firefox doesn't even load. It worked fine earlier than all of a sudden It stopped working today. Web pages don't load. Nothing works

I seen a post earlier that had a link to a supposed fix but I couldn't figure it out. So if anybody is able to help me it would be much appreciated. I am not an advanced user when it comes to Firefox

So, for awhile now when I go to some sites, the screen suddenly starts flashing, then it jitters and turns some light color (like a light green; not blue screen, not black). If I guess where the "X" is to shut down the tab that has the video, I can end this. Often, like on youtube, I find the problem is some ad video that was playing. The rest of the site is ok. But not always.

It happens in lots of places, though. It is not per se a YouTube problem or just a problem at NBCSports. I shell out to MS Edge, and it seems to handle everything fine, so I'm assuming at this point it is a browser issue.

One last point: after this happen the screen display is degraded even after I manage to shut down the offending tab or video. It takes a Log off/log back in or reboot to fix everything. The degradation takes the form of making the screen look a bit like a pointilist painting, although that's an exaggeration.

FF 109.0.1 64 bit Windows 11 NVidia GeFORCE RTX 3060 running studio driver 526.98 (I have switched periodically from / to their gaming driver, which doesn't seem to matter)

WHERE IS MY BOOKMARKS TOOLBAR??? Every time I update Firefox (now 109), I end up with all kinds of problems! NOW, I can't see my bookmark toolbar. All the help articles tells me how to show it or how to bookmark a page, which I already did multiple times. But this issue is never solved. If I can't get this resolved, I'm going to MS Edge.

Hello! When I turn on firefox in my laptop it always opens in small window, so it is very annoying and it happens every time. I know that, when I reset firefox to fabric settings, problem will go away, but for a couple days only and again it will be. So do you have any idea, how to solve this problem once and for all? Every time I start the computer or reboot and open firefox I discover that it isn't the default browser, as reported in the firefox settings menu. I then go to Defaults apps in control pannel settings and set Firefox as the default which sets the default to satisfy the setting menu which then reports that firefox is now the default browser. The next time I turn on the machine or reboot and check the settings menu I discover that firefox is not the default web browser. How do I set firefox as the default browser permanently so that I won't have to do this each time I start the computer? Thank You.

None of this works.

1. There is no key: "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\HTTP\shell\open\command" in the registry.

2. Went through the registry and changed the values of the following keys: .htm, .html, .ttt, .htw, .htx and hxx and every entry to their reference to: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" then rebooted.

3. After each registry edit and reboot windows10 took a long time to come up with lots of disk activity. This tell me the windows changes all this back!

4. So, how do you fix this??????

Okay, I give up. So, Facebook is or has implemented this Turn on two-factor authentication or whatever it is. What this means for me at the moment is that I am unable to access my Facebook account as it is now forcing me to use this Two-factor authentication thingie, despite that I do not have a mobile phone. (yes, I know it's unusual in this day of age not to have one. I did have one at one time, but for the moment I have no interest in getting another one). I would rather use my laptop anyway.

Doesn't Firefox have a Two-factor Authentication thing that I can use with Facebook? Without a mobile phone using the Firefox browser on a computer or laptop?

Now, from what I can see, Facebook is offering 3 ways of doing this. #1) Authentication app, like Google Authenticator or Duo Mobile. #2) Text message (SMS). #3) Security Key. So, because I do not use or have a mobile phone, I was guessing that my option would only be #1 Authentication app, like Google Authenticator ... which I have never used before, and while reading up on it, I keep reading that I can only use it with the Google Chrome browser?!? If that wasn't bad enough, I typically use Microsoft Outlook, not Gmail. So, I am at a loss at this point.

Again, I do not have a mobile phone. Doesn't Firefox have a Two-factor Authentication thing that I can use with Facebook? Without a mobile phone using the Firefox browser on a computer or laptop?
