Hi all,

does anybody know how to go straight to downloads by using the following link?

chrome://browser/content/places/places.xhtml

By default it opens all bookmarks. Using about:downloads is no option because of the limited functionality.

Every help is welcome!

I am currently using two separate profiles for Firefox browser - one personal and one for work. I have both open at all times on one machine. When I click on a link from Slack (for work), it always opens in my personal Firefox browser which it usually cannot open since I need to be logged into my work account.

How do I set it up so that the link will open in the profile that was most recently used vs the default profile?

When closing Firefox and more than one window is open, I get a warning telling me how many tabs I have open in that window, and asking if I want to continue. If I continue, tabs will be lost.

The warning has two buttons, "Close Tabs" and "Cancel."

If I close FF with File > Exit or Ctrl-Shift-Q, and next time when I open FF, all windows and tabs came back.

The warning above should address this: It should give a third option of Exiting to bring back all windows when FF is started next time. Something like...

Recently the web push notifications got a popup UI that is really disturbing. Show up on all desktops etc., it interrupts me in what I’m doing. I really very strongly dislike this change.

I would like to revert to how it was before (pre-76.0 ? Not sure exactly which version): - notifications get sent to my desktop/OS’s notification center (running OpenSuse + KDE), - no popup is displayed when a notification is triggered.

That way: - notifications will respect the OS « do not disturb » mode, - notifications get shown through a unified UI for all applications, - I can pick how « interrupting » I want each notification to be, - In particular I can focus while on my computer without being interrupted, and poll the notifications occasionally.

Is there a way (maybe a about:config option) to keep notifications but disable the popup behaviour?

Hello,

I have 7 or 8 sites I regularly use to purchase books. The problem is,I have to type every single one of them and then head to their search bars and type the same book title over and over again. Is there a way I can place all of them in a group and then have Firefox search only within those sites for the book titles?

Thank you in advance!

Hi all, I believe I remember that this function once was implemented in firefox and I used it regularly. But now I can't find it anymore:

The search results of an internet search (let's say google search results) show up in firefox one after the other. When I move my hand to the mouse and Strg + click I can open selected search results in new tabs. From the keyboard I can only use Tab to navigate from element to element - but not from search result to search result as I want.

Is there a possibility to move quickly from search result to search result? To skip all the not interesting elements? To "tab" through all these links, the maps, the ads takes ages...

Would be great if someone knew the old function in firefox at least.

Hey guys! I'm a student and so it's useful for me to make my university's student portal as my homepage. However, whenever I start up Firefox, it goes to the 'Authentication required - Mozilla Firefox' popup login area before I can get into my portal. The details are already auto-filled, but I have to hit OK every time. It's more of a quality-of-life and very minor problem, but would there be a way for me to just click the Firefox icon and instantly be logged in automatically? Maybe a custom URL to set as the homepage, or some other way I have to go to make this happen. Thanks so much all! Any replies would be massively appreciated!

URI paths can be used to access internal resources in Firefox.

For example, the URI: chrome://mozapps/skin/extensions/rating-won.png relates to the real physical folder path of: ... /omni.ja!/chrome/toolkit/skin/classic/mozapps/extensions/rating-won.png

What is the chrome:// URI for the this particular icon?: ... /omni.ja!/contentaccessible/html/folder.png

It is higher up the tree than the usual top-level items, and I can't figure out the correct chrome URI for it.

Hello there !

This is what happens: I'm using Firefox, with several windows open. I'm on this support page, for instance (image 1), and I look up my calendar, or messages, or Zoom, etc. (image 2)

In the background of this app window, Firefox immediately displays another page, one that was open but hidden, in fact the one next to the page I was on. (image 2)

And when I return to Firefox, I'm still on that window, so I have to manually return to the page I was on before I opened the othe app.

Thank your for your help!

I have a FireFox window open, and I launch a portal from it which causes a new window to open. I do have "Open links in tabs instead of new windows" ticked in FF settings. FF used to allow me to dock the window as a tab in the original window just by clicking and dragging it to the tab area but for some reason it doesn't allow that anymore. How do I get that back? Or is there another way to ensure new windows open as tabs when clicking a function in the original window?
