My brokerage requires Active X in order for Adobe Reader and Java to function. Without Active X neither work. After a lengthy session with their tech staff I was told to contact you or use IE. I hate IE. IE is the whole reason I got FF back when you folks first updated it to FF 0.7. That was in early '04. I haven't looked back. I HATE IE!

PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME TO USE IE.

If Active X is so bad, why does Google Chrome use it? Is it not a security thing but rather a licensing issue?

I too need to completely disable the nanny behavior of validating all certificates. I sit behind a corporate firewall and all my certificates are replaced by the proxy server. No connection leaving here is safe from the network admins up stream and no amount of confirming exceptions nor adding certificates will make it so.

I just need to disable this useless blockage so I can surf sites. I can't even google effectively since the default google searches use https:

Thank you.

This problem was raised 2 years ago but was never resolved to the user then and the problem they were having the same one I came looking for an answer to.

I need to be able to allow individual sites to "automatically redirect" while preventing other sites from having that privilege.

As it is now, I use Opera to access the problem site when Firefox won't allow it. I REALLY DON'T want to change this setting universally.

Support for enablePrivilege has been removed in Firefox (Bug 546848), so it is no longer possible to get special elevated privileges by using this method.

If a web page (or local html page) is using this then they will have to use other ways get what they want like providing a Firefox extension.

Where is it possible to find an exension of this kind (if it exists)?

How in the world do we get RID of this thing called http://b.scorecardresearch.com/rs/vce_st.js:1. It keeps popping up when we log on and slows our computer. Evidently it is script, and malware, or whatever, there must be someone who knows how to simply block it.

I have tried every way to change it, and my settings say Firefox is still my default browser yet it opens with AT&T/Yahoo as my search engine. I hate AT&T and have eliminated them completely from my life and don't want them as my search engine. I am currently running a virus extractor as I read that could be the problem, but if that doesn't work, any other suggestions?

Hi, I have a thing that's been bugging me for a while. I have Firefox locked down pretty tight. Do not track, no browser history stored and no cookies etc etc.

HOWEVER, whenever I open a new tab I get the blocks of "previously visited websites to chose from" with some sites I have visited in the past (though not all) even though I'm basically running in private mode all the time. I can go to the security settings and select "clear history" and they go away and I get blank boxes again. But every time it builds up and they come back. How do I stop this from happening? Because clearly it's saving my browsing history somewhere, somehow even though I'm asking it not to.

Any help would be appreciated.

Each time I use firefox popup ads for items like video players, download "assist" programs and other spam appear, some in large weindows almost filling the screen. Many have Mozilla Firefox as a label in the title bar. Popup blocker is enabled and does not stop them. I have also tried blocking the URL of the ones that have one, this also did not stop them. They are becoming more frequent, and are not connected with any particular website. Asking for advice on how to stop these, otherwise I may have to abandon Firefox. Thanks, Rokahaszn
