Whenever I use the Hiragana input method for Japanese (Mac) the keyboard freezes up every other time I try to type. After typing one sentence or phrase in Japanese, I need to manually switch to another language, then switch back to Japanese to unfreeze the keyboard for use in Firefox. I seems to get stuck when I am offered to choose between homophonous logographs i.e. 用紙 and 要旨, and although the arrow keys work to toggle between different choices, 'enter' nor 'space bar' will register, thus preventing me from naturally exiting the drop down scroll and moving on. This problem only occurs inside Firefox, and only with Japanese Hiragana (Chinese Pinyin works fine ironically). In Safari and other browsers the input method also works fine. Thank you for answering my question.

I have a fresh install of Arch with KDE, and just installed Firefox with pacman. Using the settings menu I've set my keyboard layout to English (UK, Intl, Macintosh)¹. I have a wireless keyboard and I cannot adjust the volume when listening to a video or music. I have to click away from the browser in order to adjust the volume for it to work. Sometimes I get a delay of about 3-4 seconds if/when it works which is very seldom. I do not have this issue at all with IE or Chrome. I love Firefox and would like to use it more but this is a bit of a annoyance and I have to use Chrome instead of this browser. Small bug that can be fixed. Thanks.

Now every time I type i.e. "r" the page reloads! There are other keyboard shortcuts too - every key that isn't bound by a shortcut types normal.

This means that whatever I type wherever when using Firefox I can't type the letters that are bound by a shortcut (which is executed without holding down a modifier key!).

This does not happen in any other application I use, including the Google Chrome browser.

I was playing Total war and mid game it only went up on the screen. I couldn't control the other keys without exiting the game. After leaving the game I found the issue also occurred with Cortana search, edge and firefox. I realized I'd probably hit a key on my keyboard that changed it so I rebooted my PC and was able to change the keyboard language before logging in and that worked (I had tried prior when I was logged in and it didn't work). I got have an alienware kg-900 keyboard for my win 10 alienware aurora . I have tried: Clearing cookies disabling add-ons restarting firefox in safe mode refreshing firefox ensured num lock wasn't on rebooting PC uninstalling + Reinstalling Firefox running anti virus and mal ware made sure sticky and filter keys are off

-- Any keys I push just appears to be put in order on the screen , example: pushing "A" it will instead put 123456789 and then move onto letters , spelling out qwerty.

Using Firefox on Windows 10. Firefox is up-to-date, version 59.0.2 (64-bit). Windows 10 is up-to-date. The issue is that after a small amount of time, closing a tab in Firefox starts to lock up Firefox. I can unlock it by hitting the Windows Start key. But then, sometimes the tab closes and sometimes the tab is moved to a new window.

It seems that multiple commands are queued while it is locked. If I hit the close button multiple times and the first hit locks (and I don't realize it), then when I hit the Start button multiple tabs are closed as my mouse hits are processed (or the first tab is moved to a new window, or multiple indeterminate things happen that are hard to characterize).

Hitting close tab does not always lock up. About 80% of the time it locks up.

This happens with the mouse or with touch. I am running on a Surface Pro 2017.

I have tried resetting and reinstalling Firefox. No affect. I have tried running in Safe Mode. No affect.

No other program on my machine exhibits this behaviour.

I am posting this from a different machine, so browser data gathered with the post is invalid.

Hello.

I installed Firefox 50.0 with no add-ons or extensions. I've never had Firefox on this laptop. I didn't change any settings except to import my bookmarks/favorites from Internet Explorer.

I am using a Windows 10 Professional HP Envy laptop. I have a full-sized USB keyboard. Using Kaspersky Internet Security.

The problem I am having is that when Firefox is running, periodically my keyboard stops working on OTHER applications that are running.

How I recreate this is:

1. Restart Windows.

2. Launch an application. For example, in my scenario, it is any of a Remote Desktop session, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and/or Skype.

All is working fine, keyboard-wise. And has always worked fine as far as I know. This includes the USB keyboard and the laptop keyboard.

3. Launch Firefox and visit, say, this page or GMail or any site really.

After a period of time, minutes or even up to an hour, suddenly any typing I perform in, say my Remote Desktop or in Word will just stop. For example, I type "the" and "the" doesn't enter in to Word or Remote Desktop or any other application that is running. All applications just stop accepting keyboard input. Any keys - letter or numbers or number pad numbers just don't register.

It will remain this way until the moment I close Firefox. The moment I do, all applications begin responding to keyboard input.

If I redo this scenario, it will occur again minutes or even an hour later.

Things I tried but didn't resolve this. I restarted my laptop before each attempt.

1. Searching here. 2. Reinstalling Firefox. 3. A new keyboard. 4. Use the laptop keyboard. 5. Visiting ONLY ONE page to see if it could be magically related to a specific web page, say GMail or a news site. 6. Searching the internet for "firefox keyboard stops working" which does have related hits with the most current that I've found being 2009. None of the things I found there or here seem to have helped.

The only thing that DID work was not using Firefox.

If I don't run Firefox the problem does not appear. The longest I've gone between restarts is 36 hours so I can't say "never", only that the problem hasn't appeared. I sometimes hibernate or sleep in those gaps. If I run Firefox, the problem will appear within one hour, which is what leads me to think the problem is somehow Firefox related.

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance!

Robert
