Yesterday my Firefox suddenly started showing strange boxes over various parts of every web page. For example, there are black boxes over the scroll bar. When viewing Facebook, there are little squares (black, grey, white) over the scroll bar, the little IM boxes at the bottom of the screen (the ones currently in use), etc. It seems a little better ont he Mozilla Support forum, but not at the bottom of the screen or on the Scroll bar. For the most part I can see most parts of every webpage. The scroll bar still works fine, as does IMing on FB, but the little boxes blink and are very annoying. So far I've tried to restart Firefox, checked to see if it's updated, but alas it's all as it should be. This is not happen when I use MS Word or Powerpoint, Safari, iTunes, other apps. Only with Firefox so I know it's a Firefox issue.

I Have a Macbook Pro 13 inch mid-2010 2.4 GhZ Intel Core Duo processor 4 GB. Running Mac OSX Yosemite. I've also uploaded an image. It's of the scroll bar on the edge of the FB page. I can try to get others if you want to see more examples. The squares tend to flash and change shape, so it's hard to get a good screen capture.

Thanks in advance for you help.

i never had any problems using Firefox before. but now every time i open a new tab, my pinned pages are gone. it now says:

The address isn't valid

The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded.

Web addresses are usually written like http://www.example.com/
Make sure that you're using forward slashes (i.e. /).

and when i try to open the options in the top right corner, it says the same thing.

i tried restarting Firefox with add-ons disabled, it is still not working.

everything works great, I'm browsing the internet just fine. its just the tab and the options that is not working. please help. thank you

Starting within the past 2-3 days, whenever I start Firefox as my default browser, with Google as my default search engine, which I've been doing for as long as I can remember, a second page loads. It's called "Options," and this is the URL:

about:preferences#general

It may be useful, but I don't want to see it every time I start Firefox. I tried the solution suggested by other users within "about:config" but that didn't work.

Thanks for your assistance. This isn't life-changing, but it is annoying.

It started 4 days ago that some websites like www.reuters.com didn´t load. Also downloading a file only generates files with 0 Bytes. If he loads a website, then the load sign runs permanently. Today the browser can´t start any more. He only generates crash reports. After he asked me to restore the last session, a new crash reports appear.

Come and IE work. However I hate them and want my Firefox back. Please any hints to resolve this

I am running Windows 10 with Firefox version 39. Every time I open a new tab a Yahoo search page comes up. I have deleted all of Yahoo's stuff off of my laptop. I have no Yahoo toolbar, etc left. I also removed Yahoo as a search engine option. Only DuckDuckGo is available to search. I have read over previous posts on how to remove this, but they are all over 203 years old and do not seem to follow version 39's options. How do I remove this very annoying feature. I do not want to do this, but if I cannot resolve this I will start using the Edge browser. On a side note, there is no extensions.netassistant, etc on this machine. I have gone into through the config and cannot find it, nor do I see anything along this lines in programs available for removal. Any help and or insight would be most appreciated. Thank you

So the thing is,the entire page is flashing black,as you can see in the screenshot. And when it's black if i hit f11 or i change the tab and go right back ,it fixes but i can't see things like the home button in facebook for example.Or the chat in facebook(it is completely transparent, i can only see the text and can't see any emotes,it's frustrating.) I tried the following: -Reinstall Firefox. (same) -Switch to Chrome. (same) -Switch back to Firefox and reinstall my graphics drivers and updating flash player. (same) I have to admit though, before doing all that i was getting this on every website, scrolling down for 10 seconds and this happened. But now it's mostly happening on Facebook, not so much on other websites. But in particularly, facebook is impossible.I can't even watch a video without the entire screen turning black and only the video being shown. I'm really out of ideas, could need some help.

Hello everyone, I am having this problem where the audio is delayed by approximately 300ms, I've tested and noticed that on Youtube videos. I am using Firefox version 40.0.3, but this problem occurred a couple of versions ago. As a reference, please see this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCPEidaVzQU (BBC HD audio sync test ) When watching this on Firefox with HTML5 and I pause when the sound appears, its usually on 3 (audio late). When I use Firefox with the YouTube™ Flash® Player 1.4.0 add-on or on Google Chrome with HTML5 I get 0 (no delay). Steps I tried so far: - Restarting Firefox in safe mode and add-ons disabled (HTML5 audio still delayed) - Creating a brand new user profile (HTML5 audio still delayed) - Reinstalled Firefox (HTML5 audio still delayed) - Options -> Advanced -> check/uncheck "Use hardware acceleration when available" (HTML5 audio still delayed)

I have browsed the forum and found some people having a somewhat similar issue, where everything starts normally but a couple of minutes in the video, audio starts to desynchronize. I do not have that problem, my audio is always delayed with those 300ms and the delay stays the same. Usually it's not a big deal, but when watching someone talk directly, it gets really bothersome. If anyone can help me out with some advice, I would really appreciate it.

Releth

P.S. I found this reddit post https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/39mrox/firefox_html5_audio_delay/ seems other people have the exact same issue too.

I use Firefox in an enterprise environment that has no internet access and want to be able to set the default startup page for all users accessing the PC to our training center's webpage. If I change it in the about:config, it is only a "user setting" based on profile. I need to make it default so that any user logging onto the machine gets the desired page. I've tried several of the creating the js preference files and config files mentioned in some of the support blogs, but they do not work in Firefox 43. I'm responsible for about 1200 physical machines, and about 800 (and rising) VMs.

The training instructors don't want to have the students open the shortcut on the desktop and set it as their homepage each time they move to a different PC or classroom as during a 16 week course, the students are apt to forget.
