Firefox wont shut done in Ubuntu 10.10

I am using Ubuntu 10.10. with FF 3.6, and when I go to shut down a window opens and says FF is still running. I dont even have to have been using it. When I do open FF it will say its alrready running. Is it FF or my OS giving the problem? Thanks

Thanks for the help. I went and made a new profile, now time will tell.
