last used volume setting on video

Hi there

I have this problem that may or may not be an issue with Firefox itself, but Ill ask here anyway since its a good place to start.

I have recently upgraded to FF5 .. despite a few teething problems 99% of everything works fine now. However there is one thing that is still bugging me.

the last versions of firefox I used seemed to remember last used volume settings while browsing. For example, If i was on youtube watching a vid, I would set the volume to 20% .. I would close down youtube.. and continue browsing, I would link back to youtube (after completely closing it on all tabs...etc) and watch another random video. The Volume would still be set at my last used setting, in this case 20%. This would go the same with most other video content I found online. FF would always remember last used volume setting. Further more as far as I can remember even after "closing" FF completely, and restarting it, it would still remember all my last used volume settings (even when I have FF to not remember any history of any kind).

Ever since Ive been using FF5 I have found that FF dose not seem to remember last volume settings for anything anymore. The only time it remembers the volume setting is when I am watching multiple videos on the same page/frame/tab. As soon as i open a new youtube link onto another tab or browser window, or indeed close any youtube windows or tab down with a set volume of 20.. .. it would be reset back to 100.

I use my pc as a media machine also.. hooked up to my hd tv in the living room. So often I am playing some music, while browsing or whatever. I find most online video at 100 are way too loud, and start suddenly, so by default ide always make sure while on a browsing session that youtube and other things would be at 0% or whatever. This way I dont get a sudden fright when clicking onto video content. Right now ever since using FF5 i find i have to turn off my amp (or bring the windows global volume right down) before I attempt to open any video content. Its getting a bit tiring do this every time i either open FF or load a new page or click onto another link containing video content.

I realise that it might not be an issue with FF, but this has only started happening since i upgraded to FF5, and never on previous versions, so I am assuming at this point its something to do with FF.

If someone could help me identify the problem or even fix it , would great :)

regards pan

PS.. my specs FF5 Win Vista x64 (up to date service pack..etc)
