after setting my home page, firefox does not keep it. It reverts to Ask.com

I want to have My Yahoo as my home page. I set it as instructed. Firefox goes to the correct site for 2-3 time after setting, then it reverts to the Ask.com page for the home page. I have tried to delete Ask.com but that does not solve the problem. How do I get the proper home page to hold?
