I had a saved login name and password for a web site. Evidently, I had multiple saved login names and passwords. I deleted all of the saved login names and passwords using the passwords tab. But the old ones keep showing up when I try to log in. The owner recently merged with another business and changed the business name. Now my saved logins and passwords no longer work. but when I try to log in, the ones I thought I had deleted from my passwords feature keep sowing up. Too helpful except that they don't work.

The old name is on a tile on my home page - not the list that runs near the top of my home page, but the row of tiles that appears lower down in the page. How can I delete it? I would send you a screenshot of what I am talking about, but only seconds after I take a screenshot it disappears and I can't find it.

Firefox has two features which could show suggestions for a user name field:

  • Password Manager - user name and password pairs for a specific site
  • Form History - since field suggestions based on the field name not limited to one site

With respect to the built-in Firefox Home / new tab page, you should be able to remove shortcuts near the top as well as Recent Activity entries near the bottom. This involves hovering over the tile and looking for a ... menu in the upper right corner. Because Firefox will add new ones from your history, you may need to repeat the process a few times (or delete the entries from history). See: Customize items on your Firefox New Tab page.
