I posted this back in February and never got any replies, so lets try again. :-) OS: Xubuntu 24.04.2 Firefox: All version for quite a long time up through version 137.01 In general I have no problem with direct URLs loaded into Firefox, whether from local links or from remote sites. However, sometimes, possibly as a result of an embedded link in an email, or from a site that pops-up a new instance of the default browser (i.e., Firefox), the URL is mangled with a local filesystem path prepended to the proper URL. The path seems to be one that Firefox accessed in the recent past. For example, a path such as: /usr/local/bin When clicking on the link, the browser starts up with the URL field showing: /usr/local/binhttps://......... I then have to delete the leading path component before I can access the URL. I'd include a test case if I could find something repeatable that I could post here, but at the moment I don't have one. Any ideas why this is happening and any suggestions for a way to stop Firefox from prepending the local filesystem path? Thanks.
