If I change the name on my MacBook, it changes the name on the iPhone as well. Clearly they are logged in as the same device. I have no idea how that happened or how to undo it.

That makes sense if both devices are signed into the same Mozilla Account because the name on the menu should be your account display name, not a reference to the current device.

You should see two different device names/descriptions on

https://accounts.firefox.com/settings#connected-services

By the way, you can modify your device name/description on your Mac Firefox, at

Settings/Preferences page > Sync

From what you wrote and what I saw on the Sync page, I am deducing that the "Display name" is the Account name not the Device name, since the Device name in the screen grab is correct. If this is correct, then I should change the Display name to "Dan's Firefox Acct," log everything off, and log back in to this one account.

Is this correct?

2nd question. I'm on the same device as above and in the same Firefox, just another tab. I went to Firefox Support. It seems I'm logged in as "new iPad Pro" (see screen grab) Does this mean I have several accounts with the same login?

I just looked above and saw that I am identified in all of my entries here as "new iPad Pro."

Your account username here is mr.l as you put in new iPad Pro as your display name as you can see if you view https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/users/edit
