Hello, At one time I could login at home to view my Spectrum.net account on Firefox (default browser), now I get a popup which reads "This feature is currently unavailable. Please try again from home or contact us for assistance. "IDID-4000"

I get the same message on my laptop and desktop, both running Firefox. I can switch to the Edge browser and login with no issues. I have cleared cookies and used other suggestions I have read on the web, but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks! Tony

Hmm, in that case, the site should detect your IP address as being the same as in Edge. Strange.

When you have time to restart the browser, could you test in Firefox's Troubleshoot Mode? In that mode, Firefox temporarily deactivates extensions, hardware acceleration, any userChrome.css/userContent.css files, and some other advanced features to help you assess whether these are causing the problem.

If Firefox is running:

You can restart Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > Help > Troubleshoot Mode...
  • (menu bar) Help menu > Troubleshoot Mode...

and OK the restart. A small dialog should appear. Click the Open button.

If Firefox is not running:

Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox. (On Mac, hold down the option/alt key instead of the Shift key.) A small dialog should appear. Click the Open button.

Note: Don't use the Refresh without first reviewing this article to understand what will be deleted: Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings.

Any improvement?

Hi Tony, in future posts, please remove any spaces or tabs from the beginnings of lines for better formatting.

Why would Spectrum think you are not at home... are you using a VPN or similar service that routes your connection through a remote server?

Yes in troubleshoot mode I could login to Spectrum and see my account, went back to standard mode and could not login. Read the article on how to refresh Firefox, did a refresh and that fixed the problem, can now login like before! Thanks for the help and info!!!!

Hey, well the refresh didn't last long, Its now back to the same issue of not letting me login to Spectrum. So I don't know.

If you haven't already, could you try clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the Spectrum site. Possibly something was accumulated there since the Refresh that has caused the breakage. Here's how:

(1) Clear Firefox's Cache

See: How to clear the Firefox cache (only select Cached web content, don't clear all cookies and site data)

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.

(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, click the lock icon at the left end of the address bar. After a moment, a "Clear Cookies and Site Data" button should appear at the bottom. Go ahead and click that. Firefox will ask you to confirm; go ahead and confirm.

Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

Cleared the cache and no change. Went in troubleshoot mode again and I could log on to Spectrum. I went back to regular Firefox and disabled all of the addons then enabled one at a time and tried logging in, when I enabled Malwarebytes Browser Guard I could not log in, disabled it and I could log in. Seems like Malwarebytes is the problem. Will see if it holds true. Thanks for the suggestions!!
