since the last redevelopment of Mozilla Firefox I am having trouble exiting both my private and non private browser. I want to uninstall Firefox and re install it to see if that gets rid of the gremlins.

Do you have data in the browser like bookmarks and passwords? What security software are your running? Have you tried Firefox in Safe Mode?
