was able to get both old and new bookmarks back, with a LOT of time and editing to get things organized again. BUT now the updated firefox has disappeared completely and the old version is back...Can you please explain what is going on here? thanks...Richard

Taking a look at your Profiles might help -

Manage profiles when Firefox is open https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-remove-switch-firefox-profiles#w_manage-profiles-when-firefox-is-open

And, Firefox will store up to 15 Bookmark Backups -

Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/restore-bookmarks-from-backup-or-move-them

Hi Richard, do you have multiple installations of Firefox? The two common locations are:

C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

C:\Program Files (x32)\Mozilla Firefox

When Firefox is running, you can use the first table on the Troubleshooting Information page to find the "Application Binary" and see which folder holds your currently live Firefox program. See: Use the Troubleshooting Information page to help fix Firefox issues.

the only thing I could find in the directory was the old version..did the troubleshooting and it wanted me to load the new firefox which I did, but all I got was the old version with none of my bookmarks etc. Everytime I make a move from a page I have to re-sign into firefox Is there someone I can speak with since this is frustrating and a colossal waste of time to use the product??? thanks Richard

Hi Richard, if you only have one installation of Firefox, do you have more than one profile listed on the about:profiles page?
